I played a few games last night and I've been pretty disappointed. The graphics are pretty bad and I don't like the cartoony art style at all. I'd say games like Diablo 2 look better than LoL. The shop is hard to navigate quickly. I'd also prefer if the minimap was on the left like in Starcraft rather than the right. Overall the game looks really unpolished. The game has potential but right now it feels like the game would appeal more to younger kids just playing their first online game rather than a more mature and experienced audience.

The worst thing so far has been the chat interface. It's really unintuitive and I don't see why everything needs to be in its own popup window with unnamed buttons that open them. There aren't even basic chat commands to join other channels or add people to your friends list. Even battle.net has a better chat interface and lobby than this game.

Also, I just tried joining a game using their matchmaking system. The estimated wait time was given as 27 seconds, but it took over 10 minutes before I gave up and quit.

Does anyone know of a better AoS game that has better graphics, a better lobby/chat system, more heroes, and more features?

Tried some practice games, LoL's lobby interface is horrid and the shops are indeed screwed up. I was playing some hot chick, and her 2nd skill was "adds effects to L1 and L3 spells", what effects? I have no idea what a sword through the heart means and why can't the spell just fucking say what it does?
She also has no mana which I found weird. Pretty much makes anything with +mana cost inefficient because I assume I pay for that +420 mana attribute if I buy it.

Also I find the fact that you get persistent bonuses to your next game given whatever (you buy them with real money or influence points) cheap and disgusting.

Udyr is an op piece of shit.

Alot of heros in alot of DotA style games can become extremely OP if fed, or played exactly the right way by a pro against moderate/newer players. I come up with trouble against Udyr because of his stupid shield, and my champion (who wasn't truely meant for melee) trying to outmelee Udyr (who is a beast at melee).

No. As i've heard before, there are heros who are just op in LoL. In most dota style games (outside of ts, because that's a lot of countering) there are no heroes that can be completely uncounterable. With the rune system in LoL and the broken heroes, this could happen.

Arachna, You are the host of the HoN thread. As much as I don't like the "get rewards for inviting friends to play LoL", I intend to do it. It really isn't all that different, other than you are inviting potential players to play what might* be their first DotA-type game. (Like people in the neighborhood or in school.) If they don't like it, then they move on to something else. Some people don't play if the game is too competitive, some do.

*Emphasis on might. Also, people who haven't played this style of game would be more likely to play a game that isn't too competitive in their first choice. I am basing this off of one of my real life friends, who quit playing LoL after he wanted to get more into the genre and just play the "best" DotA-isque game, which is obviously DotA. He did say that he enjoyed LoL while he did play it, but it wasn't serious enough for him.

I haven't played it much recently, I've been watching anime and playing StarCraft. But I'll probably get back on sometime. Last time I visted, there were 2 new champs added, I think one of them could transform into animals, or some shit. idk though, it's been a bit. I should check the news to see if new heroes (that I might actually like ) are here.

LoL is much different from HoN. While HoN wants to be DotA's heir, LoL takes DotA and adds a sense of customization. It won't be the next DotA, but it seems promising as it's own game.
So stop comparing apples to oranges.

Also, Amumu sucks but is extremely fun.

I feel like all the HON players are slowly turning into LOL players...

LoL's system sounds interesting, but I doubt I would ever trade it for HoN, especially with what S2 promises to offer in the future.

I will however, try it. If IP switched, it must have some kind of better side to it.

Holy fucking shit! This game's items are a fucking mess... Everything has anywhere between 3 and 5 different effects that just seem... Irrelevant. I agree, more items is more customization, but they just seem... Like way too much. Although this is just from the wiki site, I will check it out in game...
