So I downloaded it and played it.

At first I was like "Wow this is epic."

As the game progressed I then realized "OMFG WHY IS THIS SO DIFFICULT???"

Then I found out you needed multiple other people to join you :rolleyes:

I'm sure from what I played this is a pretty well made game and I really enjoyed some of the cinematics. However some of the gameplay elements were a little repetitive. I can't fully judge this from what little I played but I do recommend some innovation in the gameplay elements to avoid being stale. The atmosphere and everything was amazing though although once one of the captain raynors or whatever (second one) died and then he started talking during a cinematic xD.

I thought I did innovate the gameplay, here's why:

-I have never seen a Revive system like mine on any starcraft map. (Which you didn't see because you were playing alone.)
-All my boss fights are scripted. They have their own set of triggers for their AI, players actually have to figure out how to beat a boss, instead of just shoot at it. Although this proves difficult (players actually having to think about the fight and not just shoot) for most players unless someone is in the game that knows how to beat it. (Which you didn't see because you probably didn't make it far enough.)
-Yes, its pretty hard. But not impossible with a good team. Probably impossible if you try and beat it by yourself.

Also, I'm not going to be finishing this, Because I lost the map. If anyone who has seen it (I don't know how some of you got it.) still has the map and wants to PM me a copy then I can get it finished. But It has to be very soon. I only have a few days of free time left to finish this. If it doesn't happen then whatever is finished is the final version... Also before everyone who has it starts PMing me stuff, make sure the map is AT LEAST up to the part with the Mobile Suits, and that it has the tutorial at the start.

NOTE: I had the map on a 2GB USB drive so I could keep it after I reformatted, then I washed the drive by accident (Left it in my pocket) and now it refuses to work.

Let me show you how to hump without making love.

Actually, I have used the Revive system in several maps, I just never finished them. It works much more effectively when there are no healing items and if there are, they are far in between in each other. I am going to have to go off what others have said about the map, that it was endless grinding. My suggestion for the map would be to add various unique enemies that require different strategies than sit there and tank, or trap them in certain areas. When I get one of my friends, who has all my past maps, to upload them onto SEN, I will send you a link of them.

I hope you get the idea for the map down and it doesn't turn out to be just another one of those mindless meat grinding maps.

I recovered the map, the version I got was a bit earlier than I wanted, but it allowed me to change some aspects of the game that I wanted to change. The first half of the map is polished and complete. It will be finished by the 11th for sure. It will be out with the three different difficulties as well.

I seriously dout you have used the same revive system I have created, trust me. Only 1 person said it was mindless grinding and that person was basing it off of the trailer. Apart from the guy a few posts up who didn't actually play it the way it was meant to be played (With more than 1 person.) So far during public testing I've received many good comments and the map is really coming together. This map is centered heavily around teamwork, if you play by yourself there are a lot of cool features you are missing out on and you won't make it very far.

I've played this w/ you, and I'll be telling you the same thing:

1. Bosses need more indications when they're in "charge" or doing some "AoE" effects ... this is important...
2. Sewers area.. I kinda wish there were more exploration in that one.. felt like a lot of the terrain was wasted...
3. Hate the upgrade system... why don't you just let the buildings be given to the player when they're at the orbital something on ez mode... and then do what you wanted to do on the hard mode...
Plus, it's possible to use hotkey to move hero away from the Orbital upgrade sprite thing while still being centered on the dropship.... make it so that the player can't move away...
4. The special abilities of each player needs to be a bit more explicit.. especially rex.. as he just walks in, and the buildings crumble in fear beneath his feet like he's god.... lols...
5. Lastly... with the limited upgrades and HP... I think the map doesn't leave much strategy for the players... while I know the gameplay leans heavily on the Item Conservation/Exploration/Bosses... I think mayyybe each hero can have their own secondary weapon/spell ...
Like maybe Hax can create hallucinations...
Rex can maybe create a mine, since he IS the demo guy...
Kerrigan can maybe get medic (but since u set HP so low.. this isn't viable)

But since you got the grenade already... it's not that important... but it'd make it more cool and unique...

Oh and 6. Need more atmosphere on certain parts... you can add some very short, ambience Sfx.. like the sewers.. you can add water dripping sounds... Or you can add an Ultra Roaring sound for that boss... as I've said..
Goliath sound for the reaver... and etc...

I'm almost done, I've redone a lot of things and made quite a few changes. I'm pushing the release date back to the 13 or 14th, just in time for the contest.

AWESOME MAP....me and zar were playing this it was epic...but hey ghost seems pretty useless you think you should modify its dmg or what? Everyone else pows it the only thing it has which is awesome is determination but thats...alright but its still epic GRREAT MAP dont change to mch.

Siren will be getting a damage upgrade. My plan is to make Siren able to kill some of the stronger enemies (Hydra, Zealot) in 1 shot so she can pick off the stronger enemies while the others hold the line. It's still a work in progress and I'm still playing around with Sirens role to the group. I'm glad you liked it. Just out of curiosity, how far did you get?

New Version Beta 1.1

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a bug that allowed the players to get behind the Zeus during the District 18 Slums run. (Using Siren's self-revive)
- Fixed an issue that was causing the text to not display properly at the start of the Zeus run.
- Fixed an issue that was causing the text to not display properly at the Communications disruptor if the encounter was started by Haxt.

Balance Fixes:
- Reduced the amount of enemies that spawn during the Zeus run.
- Damage modifier for Siren increased to 10, up from 3.
- Increased armor of the Mek Slug's Umbilical Cord.
- Increased the cool down of Dark's UED Banner by 25%.

This is still in beta and the final area, boss, and ending is not yet complete.

Lol, me and lor got through the zeus run just fine with us two (haxt and rex). We're at the Zeus boss now (sort of stuck on it). On another note, our third player was Dark, but he kept breaking the game. At the Mek reav boss, after he deployed his banner, he got killed by the scarab. Strangely, I can't seem to revive him. Also, he could still move around and shoot, it's just that he was invincible. The bleed out system was still kicking in, so he died later on. Our attempts to revive him were useless. Fix please?

Very fun game btw. It's pretty intense with 2 players. I suggest adding some atmospheric music perhaps? It would add a lot to the ambiance of the game.

I have seen this bug happen a few times. I'm not exactly sure how or why it happens yet, as I've only seen it happen in about 3% of the games I've ever played. It doesn't happen with just Dark either, If I can figure out why it happens on rare occasions I'll be sure to add in a fix. Yeah somehow the balance works fine for 2 players or 4 players (This wasn't on purpose, but I'm glad it works like this.) doesn't work so well with 3 and is nearly impossible with just 1. I'm glad you have enjoyed it so far. I would love to add some atmospheric music into the game but it just doesn't seem viable. For one you can't stop the music in staredit (Which sucks.) and It is a Co-Op game and I like it to run smooth with fast download speeds over battle.net. I am still considering adding music in a premium version later on. Thanks for your feedback and suggestions.

I just experienced that bug... what happened was I had low hp but had activated the UED Banner (I was Dark) and it kicked in right as I died...or right after and I suddenly had an invulnerable marine that nobody's revive's could help. Hope that helps you with fixing the problem.

Edit: Found another bug, I was playing it two player (Dark and Rex) and we had just beaten Zeus, we got transported to the dropship (forget the name of it) and listened to a lot of text and then we were landed to try and do the bomb setting mission thing but right after our pods deployed... we were back on the ship stuck and unable to move. I did use my UED once during the briefing...not sure if that might have affected anything. We saved right before Zeus fight and will try loading sometime and see if we can get past it or if the game is just broken.

Not really a bug. The map isn't finished past that part, thats why you were stuck in the shuttle. The area after the Zeus is incomplete and unplayable. Congrats on getting that far though.

Ah ok great, hit the end after 13 attempts, it's amazing how fast people die when your playing public games on b.net once you get to the end of the Zeus fight. It's like all the sudden nobody can dodge or spam click and you have to keep saving everyone until it gets to be too much :crazy:. Still it was fun all 10 times we failed at that part, since you have plenty of time to talk about how stupid whatever player's actions were as everyone is bleeding out :D.

Love this game and can't wait for it to be finished. The ghost definitely is the weakest class and needs tweaking.

I'm glad you had fun with it.

I'm not sure if the final area of this map will ever be finished. There are a few reasons behind this. I want something amazing as the ending to the map, I want it to be something really spectacular. The idea I currently have just doesn't cut it for me. I've also found the lack of interest in this map throughout the community quite disappointing. Sure, the vast majority of people who give it a chance and actually play it love it. And it's because of those people that make the map what it is. I have carefully considered all comments from the players and implement their suggestions and removed them if they didn't work (Most of them did). Without the help of the players, the map would be nothing of what is currently is. You can call me selfish if you want, but the fact of the matter is that I would rather have it unfinished then have an unmotivated, half-assed, ending that leaves the players disappointed. Which is exactly what it would be if I worked on it at this point. I may find the motivation to finish it, but I might not either.

Its the players feedback, comments, criticism, and praise that keeps this map alive and me motivated to finish it. Without that it just wouldn't be worth it. I thank you and all the other players and testers that have helped and commented so far, it's you guys that made the map what it is. I can honestly say the map would be 99% worse if it wasn't for the people playing and giving feedback.

I've buffed the Ghost quite a few times already. She still seems weak compared to the other though. I may have to do something special with Siren instead of just upping damage.

So this means there is a chance you will not finish? T^T. I know i haven't given you any feedback, but this is an AWESOME game.

first few hundred tries were with some pubbies, so i didn't get really far. However when i tried to solo it, i eventually got up to the Zeus run. I kept getting stuck, though, and i was playing Haxt btw. His ability to get extra items is superb :P. Then, afterwards, i tried playing it with a friend. We kept saving and re-ing and we eventually beat the Zeus vessel.

However, after that, when we went over to talk to the major colonel whatever is his name, something with Z i think, we went over to the hole, but our characters just stood there, right next to the orbital station or whatever it was. Is this intentional or did the game glitch up? Being a beta and all, there was a chance it could be intentional.

So yeah, i think i agree with some stuff that has been stated before. Mainly that it's easier with 2 or 4 players. It was Rex and Dark we used for this. I was Rex, gravity bomb is soo beast :P.

Anyways, if you continue with this, i'll be cheering you on :D.

Yeah, there's a chance. I'm still haven't decided if I'm going to try to finish this at all. Once I decide, if I decide to finish it, it will still take me a little bit to figure out exactly what I want to do for the final area. If it gets done, I promise the end will be the best part. It's not an easy game, and I feel I need to reward the players for making it so far.

The abrupt stop after the Zeus fight is intentional. Nothing is really added in after that part. With the exception of the cut scene after you enter the shuttle, and are taken back to the main ship for briefing. If you didn't see that part, then it is a glitch. The game should end with the whole team stuck in the shuttle.

I'm happy you had fun it with it. I really do appreciate the comments.
