ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

Since I have everything I want except a job, I had to rack my brain for a graduation present, and settled on a wii. As an "old person" I'm pretty much out of the fps, blood/gore genre and more into the fun, family, child-safe oriented games. According to phobos/AA's previous thread (I didn't want to hijack it), the suggestions were as follows:

Super Mario Galaxy - single player
Brawl
Metroid Corruption
Metroid Prime - best fps ever
Super Mario Bros Wii
Mario Kart Wii

I've already decided to get fit and the beijing olympics, but 3 games (sports) is a pretty small repertoire. As for mario kart wii, i'm torn between the $10 64 version and the much more expensive new version with crazy controls. I may end up getting both. The others I don't think I'd particularly enjoy. Galaxy got enough thumbs up that it's worth trying out. If anyone else has any other games they enjoy and think it would fit under family multiplayer category, please share with me.

Are you a big Zelda fan? Twilight Princess was probably one of the better Zeldas, it was pretty good, the dungeons were top-notch. Besides that, everything else looks pretty good. Wii Play is okay for ten dollars, because it comes with a controller. Also, Wii Sports Resort is pretty nifty, assuming you're into those kinds of games like Wii Sports. :P

Super Smash Bros. Brawl will last you a very, VERY, long time with friends. ^^ I go to SSBB tournaments, because I like it so much.

Secks. Why don't game makers create a game around this idea.

Either nintendo is telling the publishers that they aren't allowed to do this (which they can and do) or they really are just THAT disconnected from anything that doesn't have a million dollar price tag on it.

Either way, Mac has decided to actually pay attention to this obviously awesome idea and is currently making something with it.

I'd bet nintendo is telling people they can't. It's an awesome idea and all, but until nintendo develops a safe way to utilize the idea, I don't think they can use it. They'd need to develop a wireless receiver and a slightly better looking system. It's definitely a next-gen idea which nintendo should use in the wii 2 or whatever they make next.

It works best with consoles, as you typically have to buy a controller for them. On some form of pc like mac, you already have a mouse/keyboard, and that's usually all you need. I know I wouldn't want to buy some hat to play a computer game.

As for wii play, is the only thing the controller? I already went and got a 2nd one. I'd rather spend the $10 on mario kart or mario 64. Also, sounds like galaxy is in the lineup, especially considering its price.

If you're into family friendly games, i'd recommend:

Sonic And The Black Knight:

This revolves around Sonic and his adventures in the realm of the legend of King Arthur and the excalibur sword, and camelot and all that. The thing that makes it MORE fun than any sonic game so far, HE HAS A FREAKING SWORD BISH!

Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga:

Really good choice if you're into the RPG-kinda games. There's a dude, you pick his job, his starting status points, then you go on doing quests. That's pretty much the generic explanation of RPGs, i know, but what makes this different and better you won't find out until you play it :P.

Honestly, this is all i remember about my Wii games right now. I'll list some more later :P.

If you havent already gotton metroid prime corruption, I recommend Metroid Prime Trilogy. If your into WiiWare, i liked pOp, mainly because of the multiplayer action.

Went out today and got mario galaxy for $30 since it was in the mario tennis rack. I knew something was up when I looked at gamestop and it was $45 used.

Wasn't Red Steel pretty good? You got to use a katana and a gun and you controlled the katana with the wii-mote so thats pretty cool. I think they made a sequel for it too. idk lalalala

Red steel was fun, it was quite hard to learn how to aim a gun, but once you got it, it was pretty neat.

But no its a bad game if you dont like predictable spawns, and enemies with the AI of a 8 year old child.

only if it's multiplayer and a 50 year old man who has never used a wii before can play it with ease.
