Factions:
Settlement = town
Infested Terran = mafia
Settlement:
Civilian: Townie, no abilities.
General: Mayor, a random (not necessarily settlement aligned) player starts off as the general. If they are killed a new general can be elected. When a player is elected they lose their previous role (marine, ghost, medic, scientist)
Special abilities:
1. Knows the settlement roles of ghosts, medics and scientists.
2. Immune to night hits.
3. Can confiscate a player's weapons. Can give the weapons back if he has a change of heart. If the mayor dies, the next mayor can choose to give the weapons back.
Ghost: Has limited use ability cloak, which can dodge night hits. Can make night hits.
Scientist: Can target a player for scientific examination at night. This results in that player's alignment and infested role becoming known to the scientist (with the exception of the changling). If they target a baneling for scientific examination, the baneling explodes, killing the scientist and the baneling.
Marine: This role is known publicly. A war veteran who is a bit off his rocker. Has the ability to make day hits. As long as he has his weapon, he can gun a person down in broad daylight, but there could be consequences to doing that. He declares he is doing this publically in the thread any time during the day, and the person in question dies immediately (unless saved by a medic).
Medic: Doctor. At the start of day and every night chooses a player to protect. Can negate one regular night, or one day hit made by a marine on the protected player. Doesn't protect against baneling attack or a lynching.
Infested terran:
Infested terran: Regular mafia, can make night hits. Can stack with settlement roles
Changeling: When examined by a scientist they are falsely revealed to be settlement aligned. Can make night hits.
Baneling: Can't make night hits. Has the ability to make a special sacrificial day hit, that kills the target (which can be the General), any medics protecting that target (if the target in the medic, the medic's target) and a random player (not the mayor) who was unfortunately standing nearby. Can't stack with settlement roles (so you can only be a Baneling/Civilian).
Infestor: Can permanently convert a settlement aligned player over to the dark side as a one time special ability. Can't make night hits (unless they're a ghost).
Most infested terran roles can stack with most settlement roles. For instance you can have a infested marine, infestor doctor, or if you're really unlucky a changeling mayor. Infested scientists for instance, are scientists as far as the mayor is concerned. In actuality they can't perform scientific tests, but they can certainly pretend to.
EDIT:
One more thing. Scientists are detectors (because duh), so if a infested scientist targets a cloaked ghost, the cloaked ghost still dies. However it is also revealed (subtly) that a cloaked ghost was detected and killed.
