Dear Reader,

We wake up a hopeful town this morning. Blood was shed in the night, of course, but some suspects are now dead and I hope we are close to unraveling the clues that will finally allow us to topple Dapperdan's sinister regime. I take faith in the continued good health of our sheriff, and hope that we will soon rout the mafia.

Late in the evening, Echo was returning home from work. As he strolled down the street, he noticed that one of the streetlamps was extinguished. He felt adrenalin being to course through his veins as he realized that anything out of order was a sign of death and chaos to come. He inched toward the dim patch where the streetlight stood. He heard an angry mutter as the mafia realized his surprise was ruined. At the silver flash of a katana, Echo took flight into an adjacent alley. He rounded a corner at breakneck speed, shaking off the pursuing mafia in the maze of buildings. Suddenly, however, a flying form tackled him. One pissed off zany_001 had leaped through a window and felled his target. A quick bite to the throat and Echo became marked for death. As the zombie ran off into the night, the arriving mafia could only watch as Echo seeped blood into the dirt below him.

Another of our suspects crept out onto his porch late in the night for a quick smoke. Even this quick lapse in caution was enough for the mafia to take advantage. A mafia leaped over the railing on the porch, stabbing the man before he could even jump in surprise. As the man was dying, the mafia murmured something indistinct, perhaps a malediction or oath of revenge. Whichever it was, it mattered not, and the body of DeVouReR was left on the porch for all to see in the morning.

Towards sunrise, another mafia sprinted toward the jailhouse, yelling a challenge to lil-Inferno.

“Come out, you sissy!” roared the mafia, but there was no response. After a minute, he reached under his jacket and withdrew an assault rifle. He marched confidently toward the doors of the jail and aimed his gun at the nonchalant form of lil-Inferno, who sat at his desk, gazing unblinkingly at his would-be murderer. The mafia could barely read the graffiti on one of the jail cells (which read “DOFIFXOI WJEJI” in a strangely familiar hand) before the was a bang and the mafia was sent flying backwards. He scrambled on the ground, but could not find his weapon anywhere. Befuddled, he fled back into the darkness to await dawn.

As we face another period of debate, I pray we achieve victory soon...

Let's look into FatalException. There was something about sneaking about and one of the Mafia had a katana. As we all know, FatalException loves ninjas, even having his avatar as a ninja. Ninjas are known to be sneaky, and a katana could be a choice weapon for one.

He's one of my only suspects as of now. At least since the deaths of two townies, we have it easier in deciding who's Mafia.
