Hello. I was wondering, I dunno if you guys have seen my Topic about awesome Hero Ideas or not, but I have collected enough to qualify making a map using them. So, here comes the point where me make an AoS styled map like I've always wanted to, but never got around to it. The only issue I have is that I'm horrible at making terrain. I mean, I can do extended with some blends, but as far as crafting an entire island/battlefield - forget about it. I'm more of an ideas and triggers guy. If you are interested in my project at all, keep reading.

Now, of course if you want to accept this task, you need to know some basics about the map.

Well, first of all it's 3v3 style (think DoTA) with computer spawns following traditional AoS fashion. There are going to be the normal 3 outposts that are capturable. They each will contain a small amount of defense that is computer controlled. Main bases are on opposite ends of the map, they are medium sized and need to be large enough to hold one Castle-type building, some Spawning buildings/defenses, and a few beacons used for outpost teleportation (Think of a similar layout to TS)

As far as the layout, It doesn't matter as long as the bases on on opposite ends of the map, and there are 3 outposts in the middle. I would like mini-paths that connect the 3 main lanes. Vertical, Horizontal, or Diagonal layout doesn't matter at all. As far as the terrain surface itself goes, There needs to be areas that are buildable so that people can create buildings if their character allows it. I also need to place gas geysers and "Substance Patches" - which are not too important, but explained in the topic about the heroes - between the 2 bases.

Size? Well, the ideal size for the battlefield would be something that fits in a 192X192 map, but leaves room around the edges, so that the map edges don't interfere with locations that are centered on units. You would also need to leave room for the players to have upgrading buildings off to the side, and a place to pick their heros/use their level ups. Finally, leave the top left corner of the map open so that I can place my Spell-casting Gateways there pleaaaase.

Final thing about the map, It can be on Jungle, Badlands, Twilight but nothing else.

Moving on... I don't know what I can offer for this task, I mean besides major props and credit on the finished product. You don't have to worry about your work going to waste because I always finish my maps, and definitely ask around or check out other projects I have done and you'll see that I have mapping skills to back up my ambition =). Anyway, Post or PM if you have any interest or you need more information.

You might want to take a look at this.
With such tools, all you need is a rough isom, basic brush knowledge and some creativity ^^

I think that extended terrain is not important, even aesthetically, in an AOS, aside from backwards ramps and ramps of varying sizes. I think you should start with ISOM, then use extended to spice it up.

Thank you for showing me that payne, I have decided to use your brushes to create my own terrain.

I'm glad of having help you out ^^
My brushes are subject to become SCMDraft 2's default brushes :D
Of course, that means I'll polish them out ;o

NudeRaider -- PSA: ASUS apparently decided their RMA department needs to "become profitable" and for a while now outright tries to scam customers. They were called out on it a year ago, promised to change, but didn't. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pMrssIrKcY so my recommendation: Stop buying ASUS, and if you already have and need something RMA'd, make sure to not let them bully you into paying.
