So i have a few questions and i haven't seen to many posts on this topic....
1. What are some of the editors that everyone uses?
2. What is a good editor that allows multiple people to be the same color?

None.
I would say Scmdraft is a widely used editor.

Scmdraft 2 is the best editor. Starforge sucks; try to stay away from it. X-tra editor is good, but Scmdraft is still better.
Most mappers use Scmdraft solely.
You can have players be the same color but the map needs to be in the broodwar format (.scx)
While your second question is perfectly valid, the first is best kept in somewhere trivial like the shoutbox. If you have more questions please ask them here in this thread or try to find the answers yourself. I'll keep the thread open so that you can ask anything else relevant in here.

First, of all you can get all the mainstream editors
here, although, if you like Staredit mods, I would recommend using
FartyEdit, as it has more advanced functions than X-tra Editor does.
However, when it comes to functionality, SCM Draft is by-far the best editor, and it can do basically everything you'd need for your usual map. I would recommend having StarForge, since it still has some capabilities that SCM Draft doesn't have, due to its attempt to be more user-friendly. If you're going to use SCM Draft, do not open your maps with any other editors, because SCM Draft recycles strings, other editors aren't very compatible with it, so it's all or nothing.
If you need StarForge for it's sprite functionality, which is somewhat better than SCM Draft's, I would recommend making the sprite on a separate map, then cutting and pasting it into yours using SCM Draft.

If you have any specific questions related to editors, pelase post them. Otherwise the topic can be considered to have served its purpose and locked.

I used to use X-tra Editor for Placing units, naming them, using unit stats, and whatnot.
The things that SCMDraft 2 has over everything else are as follows (As I see them), and may be why people use it more than everything else:
-Ease of use (A lot with terrain, Copying and pasting is so good. The Tileset index is so helpful when it comes with extended terrain and blending) It's trigger editors are also incredibly easy to use, because of its flexibility (text trigedit for the typers, classic for the clickers- That makes it easy.)
-The abilities it has, and the compatibilities, such as zooming in, EUD Compatibility, placing map revealers automatically, AI scripts, placing units anywhere, stacking, Walkable Null, the list goes on and on. While other editors may have some of these, none of them have all of what SCMDraft 2 has.
