The sword and the faith

Update:
I had totally forgotten about this map but I decided to get working again.

The unit outlines are done. Now I have to match them with structures and hand it to DM/DL for triggering.

Relatively ancient and inactive

Seems interesting. Hopefully it won't become too popular - despite attempts, I was never able to play Civ Wars because people kept kicking me for downloading the map. And, I agree that you should make the terrain prettier. Aesthetics > Balance :hurr:.

No Cent, on a map like this balance is paramount to all other things. I'll worry about making it flashy if we have the room to do so. This is hard enough to do without access to specific armor/damage types in WC3. I'm worried that testing will show that the map concept will require SCMLoader for me to truly balance it out. But we shall see.

Epic 1 month bump.

I have begun triggering the map, Id say 1 trigger system is already complete, 5~7 others to go.

The sword and the faith

Progress:
Tier one spawns for archers, warriors, and cavalry are working.
Center unit orders are working.

To do tonight:
Finish land and possibly water tier one spawns.
Trigger income and it's bonuses from top and center lanes.
Trigger south lane special units.

What we hope to have accomplished in the next couple of days:
A playable demo featuring all T1 units both land and sea, 3 working lanes w/bonuses, briefing, and help beacon.

Are there major difference between this and Desert Strike vQueen aside from the extra lane?

Yea, it wasnt stolen.

There are THREE lanes if you read correctly, not two, there is more balance and strategy (As desert strike seams to have no stragety). The terrain isnt something that came out of the origional Campaign Editor, Its much more fast paced, Unit factories are in the combat zone, stupid warning messages dont pop up if someones building defenses next to your base, your base is upgradeable, and finnaly we dont have our name scrolled out in text along the bottom.

Hopefully this cleared things up for you.

If there's ground units, doesn't that make the top lane weird?

Obvously this section was put there for no reason then.

Quote from Excalibur
Warship
--The cheapest and most basic ship, they do well versus most ships. Countered by Cruisers. Land one unit.
Units: Light Warship, Glaive Warship, Behemoth Class Warship

Cruiser
--More expensive, stronger ships. Specialize against other ships but useless against buildings. Do not land any forces.
Units: Light Cruiser, Interceptor, Battlecruiser

Bombard Ships
--Bombard ships specialize in destroying enemy towers. However they are very weak versus ships. Land one unit.
Units: Beach Bombarder, Spearhead, Iron Spearhead

Transport
--After you've broken to the enemies defenses, this will land extra troops. However it is useless in combat.
Units: Longboat, Transport Ship, Ironclad Transport

The top lane is mine ;o Stay back

Which is why it is called Conquest. Civ Wars did give us the basic ideas, but there is only so much we can bring over from WC3 to SC.

What was ironic about Civ Wars though was that nothing actually resembled a civilization. :P

No it didn't. In technicality, if you were far enough away from your opponent in Civilization, you wouldn't even need an army. You could just tech whore.

The units ingame, yes, it did. And Viet, the middle lane usually / always tech whores in Civ Wars.

Production has been started again. We don't have much left to do, and the .20 demo should be ready in the next couple of days. I don't know whats got into me, but I seem to be getting things done mapping wise lately.
