I went through the thread and compiled a list of the ones I care more about
I would love to organize the triggers in my map according to comments, but the string limit is in the way of course. For those of you with knowledge of how an editor is built (programmers I guess), how diffcult would it be to implement a feature in SCMDraft that stores comments in a separate file? Perhaps when you click on the trigger in classic trigedit you can comment it using a separate comment feature that stores comment data for the map in some other .txt file or something, rather than actually writing it to the text triggers themselves. Is this feasible?
- As well as the ability to
sort these triggers into sections that we can minimize and expand. - When editing properties of a group of units you can select which of those you want to be affected. Make this selection carry over to the selection (red circles) in the editor (Unit Layer)
- Greater friendliness with inverted locations (Make it so you can actually work with them (i.e drag) after inverting them)
- The ability to toggle between set names and default names in both Classic and Textual editor
- Find and replace in the text Trigger Editor
- To fix this
Extended colors almost never show up on the editor as they do in the game; think you could fix that? PColor makes it look easy enough.
- When in Location layer, have a #used/256 shown in the status bar at bottom
- Location names are sorted in alphabetical order in the list to the left.
- Multi-Selection of locations for movement
- Multi-Selection of triggers with Shift-Click in Classic Trigedit, for easy copying and moving
- When locations are wider than the screen and you pan to them (via selection in location list) pan to the left of the location so we can see the name; same vertically (taller than the screen)
- Make it so if you edit a string in the string editor so that it is identical to another string it just removes it and references to the identical one, or at least a way to meld the references of one string into another.
In the recent maps list, I suggest having the list updated by both saving and loading, rather than just loading. Usually we open our main project first and may open a few other maps for reference or terrain. Because it only does it by loading when we open it up the next day, the little maps we only opened real quick are on top of the Main one, thus why I suggest this.
- An ability to lock/hide some locations. When hidden the location either not displayed at all or is transparent and unselectable (unhide via locations listbox to the left). When locked the location is selectable but unmoveable.
- Button in the Sound Editor that stops playing all wavs currently being played.
- When browsing the wav list, play the sounds on keypress (e.g. Space)
- Fix sprite property flags. All flags except "Draw as Sprite" and "Disabled" are unused.
- Make the text without any color tags in the string editor not green, but the actual default cyan.
- Multiplayer Editor so multiple people can work on a map at the same time online (or even just LAN)
