...RE4 is not scary... Bugs? They might be nasty but, scary? Hell no.

They are giant invisible locusts that don't appear until right before they attack you, but you can always hear them.

The sword and the faith

I will not be buying this game. I do wish they would do remakes of the originals (1, 2, 3) because those were the best. They actually were pretty scary.
They already remade 1. There are rumors about 2 being remade, and if they do 2, they will do 3. However I don't think the Wii is the best system to do it on.

Quote from Fierce
Anyway, my point is RE has lost that feeling of paranoia when coming up on those camera angles. It actually required patience because you kept dieing so much ( XD )..
Camera angels were never the death of me. Lack of ammo, difficulty, and limited inventory slots were.

I've played the RE5 demo as well as RE4 and found nothing interesting in them at all. Those bosses you fought on the RE5 demo were super lame... A big executioner guy with a huuuuge axe like Pyramid Head's sword and some guy with a chainsaw..
I disagree. They may be different but that doesn't make them bad. I admit it makes them lacking as an RE game but just as a game, they stand fine.

Quote from Fierce
What ever happened to the tyrants, the scientists, dogs, lickers, police, and etc.. that made the games interesting.
I also agree the older enemies were more difficult and more terrifying.

Quote from Fierce
I've heard Jill Valentine (RE1, RE3, and some others) dies in this too. If thats true, I really hate what RE has become. She was a great character in the plot and now they introduce Sheva? That is super lame.
She faked her death, you know Jill wouldn't go down without a big fight. A very big one. She made nemesis her bitch.

The regenerators are actually really scary imo. Besides that RE4's really not scary it all. I enjoy killing guys with my handgun so much though,,

Are you sure about that?

Even if those insects cloaked themselves every now and then, you can track them with your bare sight if I recall correctly.

Just Here For The Pie

Hm, I cannot help but notice no one is giving any feedback from actually playing the game (Not just the demo).

Well, I picked it up Thursday night at GameStop. It is the only game I have ever picked up for a midnight release; damn, were there nerds there. After I got the game, my friend and I went on over to his house where we system linked our Xbox 360s. Needless to say, I took Friday off from school and played through till Saturday.

The game is awesome, and it has kept me from eating these pasted three days which just shows the level of awesome the game truly is. Nah, I am kidding. We had some kick ass pancakes Friday morning, then we went back to playing it.

For all you achievement hunters out there, you might want to invest in a guide book because it will tell you where to get all the Emblems, Treasures, and S rank stats you need to unlock them. Of coarse, you can always wait until such guides are produced by your peers on the internet.

I am a little upset with the lack of action commands in this game. Many cut scenes set themselves up for great action command sequences, but fail to represent. Then there are the couple that are just pointless and complete BS if you miss them. However, there are in-play action commands that occur when an enemy is about to attack you, and you can hit them first or dodge them. While we are on the subject of 'tap the button that appears at the bottom of screen', I found the hand-to-hand context actions to be very amusing. There is nothing quite like giving your enemy zee uppercut (Link unrelated), or breaking/slitting one's neck. Well, in Resident Evil 4, during Mercenaries, Hunk could snap necks too. Still, you can: straight punch, hook punch, uppercut punch, kick, break neck, stomp, backhand, haymark, grapple break, and stab. That is just Chris's moves alone. Sheva is pretty nimble with her moves, Jill (OMG OMG OMG, I SAID IT! Get over it) loves to kick a lot, and Wesker is pretty fair as a mix. All of their moves are presented a little differently.

Playing co-op, or hell, playing alone you find yourself stricken between who is getting the ammo. The best approached to this is for one player to carry a different type of gun than the other (Machine gun versus shot gun, and such on). This makes ammo dividing.. well pretty much gone, and for the better too. You can also be a pal and carry your buddy's ammo for them if their inventory is full. You can also just tell them to reload their gun because half the time that is the case. Playing alone, the computer usually hoards as much ammo as possible, even when they are not carrying the gun. Then you have to ask them for it because they are mean like that. On the matter of item pick up, treasures and cash are given to both players with only one player picking it up (Excluding the computer if you do the picking up).

Boss battles... are actually done quite well that I do not even need to delve into that subject. Sub-bosses on the other hand are kind of stupid. They are not much a tougher pawn as they are an annoying inconvenience. Practically all of the time you can just run right passed them as they are about to attack you. The best example of this would be the Chainsaw Majini. He can be right up in your face, chainsaw up, maniacally laughing away as he is about to kill you, and you can run right around him and be fine as you pump a clip of ammo into his back then kick him because he has become stunned. Seriously, the guy needs more attacks. The real difficulty there is looking out for the dozen peons that come out of nowhere to hit you in the back or when you turn the corner as you are running from these sub-bosses. That is where the game gets you.

Numbers. There can be a lot of them and just not enough ammo to deal with them. What do you do? -Run. Yes, it sounds pussyish at first, but you will be back on your second run through with a fully upgraded AK ready to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and you are all out of gum.

Speaking of upgrading your weapons, the Merchant is not making a return in this game. Instead you just magically get the power to buy and sell goodies after each chapter/sub-chapter. This can also be done in under Item Management from the start menu.

All in all this game is not just another brick in the wall. It is a well laid out action, adventure, over the shoulder shooter for any video player to pick up and enjoy.

i havent finished it yet but.. its awesome the only 4 things i dislike are.. its not that scary.. and the 9 space inventory annoy me so much.. the merchant is gone :(.. and u cant combine treasures like in resident evil 4
(spoilers)
although its stil good. i like the reappearance of jill and wesker and the new weapons.. yes u can play merchants but with couple new people, u still have the new game +, now theres infinite ammo if u upgrade the gun completely, the bosses were awesome, i liked the reappearance of the lickers as well. Need i say more?
too much things good on the list, irather not say all of them
