Hey, I'm just here to ask a few questions about Modding and Macs, and about compatibility. I don't actually have a Mac, but my friend does, and I would like him to show a few of the mods from around here. Maybe even get him into modding (probably not).

The Py-Modding Suite (or along the lines of that) is compatible, no?

More importantly, what StarCraft downgrader should my friend use?

Any mod that runs on a mac doesn't need to downgrade, since downgrading is only useful for memory-editing(FG) mods, which are PC specific.

None.

Shoot, I just realized that. -_-

I would assume that no one (as of yet) makes tools for memory-edits in Mac?
And Disciple, what language did you write FG in?
Finally: would a port to Mac be easy? I assume no, otherwise you might have done it already (unless you were too lazy >> ).

Gah, I'm bombarding you with questions, aren't I? Sorry.

The mods would be Mac specific if made with a Mac Firegraft, no?

What about Mac-Windows Emulation?

Also: How does a Mac use MPQs to apply patches? Since, MPQDraft would not work.

Just boot into Windows. It's not that hard.

I've tried to point it out before that there is a newer Mac MPQDraft than the one most people know about. The link should still be in one of my posts around here somewhere... The post never did get any replies. Probably got ignored.

Ah, here it is: http://www.staredit.net/topic/2545/

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

Your best bet is to have him use Bootcamp or the like to run Windows and play that way.

And as SF mentioned, MPQDraft does work on Mac. But that wont help him actually run any of the mods, unfortunately. :/

As far as running Windows just for Starcraft, he could also use the free VirtualBox to run Windows on the Mac OS and it would probably run it fine.

sounds like moisture control is often a pressing concern in your city

Vrael -- Maybe here on the StarEdit Network I could look through the Forums for some Introductions to people who care about the Topics of Dehumidifiers and Carpet Cleaning?
