News about a high resolution "hack" has made way to CC. You can check it out at their website:
http://www.campaigncreations.org/On a related note, SEN and CC have reestablished ties and are now affiliates again. I guess I'll need to make an affiliate section now
.
And,
http://www.stormcoast-fortress.net/ I suppose is still an affiliate, as SI never removed us even though we didn't have an affiliate section to link back. So much love SI <3 <3 <3.

That video looks awesome! I wonder if my computer could handle all that extra information...

While it looks cool, it could really give a strong advantage to one player over another. I'm curious to see how blizzard will react to this.
orly? I thought I read there was no extra advantage.
Maybe this topic shouldn't exist then

Most likely another patch... I hope not. It looks like so much fun.

No advantage? I strongly disagree. Having a larger view of the battlefield could be of significant benefit to a player with good control and precision.
I knew about this two weeks ago. v.v

I never said there wasn't. I just said I thought I read there wasn't.

I never said you said there wasn't. I was countering what you had read.
that looks sweet! I think 600x800 would be a definite improvement. anything bigger, the units might be too small I would think. looks fun!

Ad Astras at 1280x1024 anyone?
The firefly's would be like ants.

I wonder how this would react with maps that are 20x12 sizes. Since the screen can see off the map.

This has been out for a long time. I downloaded just a week ago.

Unable to work on widescreen on any version
Hope that gets fixed/added sometime.

Did you use the method reccomended in the readme?

Did you use the method reccomended in the readme?
Steps:
Dowloaded file
Extracted to Starcraft folder
Ran that DX thing, clicked Starcraft/Diablo/Warcraft option
Ran the REsolution hack exe
Tried 1366x768
Tried 1280x800 (Wasn't there by default, just typed in)
Tried all the other resolutions in there.
None of em worked, it just kept saying Error:299 then Res.exe has stopped working

Really cool idea but it sucks. Too many glitches (minimap, building placement, unit control groups, exponential lag) make the game unplayable.

SDE, BWAPI owner, hacker.
This is what the hack does:
Takes a snapshot of the screen for the top left, moves one screen to the right, takes a snapshot of the screen for the top right, moves one screen down, takes a snapshot of the screen for bottom right, moves one screen to the left, and takes a snapshot for the screen in bottom left.
IMO it's sort of "fake". Starcraft's resolution is still 640 x 480, while this hack makes it
appear that it is running a higher resolution.
While this method may possibly be valid, it's way too buggy. I can even see the minimap screen moving around to where the snapshots are taking place. If this was perfected, then yeah it would be an advantage. As of now, I doubt it.
