Only my one German friend would do something like that. You are so far the smartest Halo fan I've encountered on the internet, good job. ( I mean it, but you are a nasty mean one ;) .) (I don't wanna create a flame war but a good argument! )
Halo Skill= Console joystick+aim+shoot. Simple concept thats overuse to much in console games and in PC games are too many of theses concepts!.

I'm hoping Halo 3 doesn't come out for PC, it's making the FPS Market look crap.
I've looked for anti taught audiences for Halo 3. Most of them known its too simple and always say other FPS shooters they rather play. (Mainly Asians, Germans, Croatians, Dutch).

EDIT: Barely any pple showed up for Halo 3 at blockbuster tonight. Only like 3 people...

that's because they all baught it at EB GAMES LOL, ITZ EBGAMES!! but anyways, I don't like the computer versions of halo to be honest, seems overdone, however, Counter Strike source sucks, the original was better... so, Iunno, I guess at the end of the day, if you don't like Halo, stop complaining about it in a topic which we should all be discussing how great it is...

But I like hearing your opinions on the game ;).
Don't hide the fact , that every game has flaws and we should complain about it. Thats how they improve games! How does Counter Strike source suck? I'm not use to it as much as 1.6. But its still good as the normal verisons.
Oh ya, how many Counter strike tournaments do you see more then Halo :P.

lol... my friend wanted to have an all-night LAN party for the opening of Halo 3. It's a shame that it was during the middle of the week.

Personally, I think the Halo series is incredibly fun to play. It has completely different gameplay than any other FPS I have played, and it has a different "feel" than others. It's a real shame that so many immature pricks play it (if you want to actually have fun, just have a LAN game with some friends).

Halo 3 is pretty much Halo 1 and 2 with some nicer graphics and some extra features put in, but changing it too much would just make it... not Halo.

Also, I'm hoping that Halo 3 DOES come out for PC. Seriously, mouse+keyboard > gamepad. And you can upgrade PCs.

So Halo 3 is basicly like how CS1.6 got CS:source. Why is it so hyped then :/.

no no no! Its a console game, it doesn't deserve the the PC goodness!

It's hyped because it's got all the stuff that made it good in the first place, with more cool stuff. Just like dual-wielding gave the game new strategies (not always good, but that's just an example off the top of my head).

Seems like a trap to fall in the Halo/xbox fan hole :/.
Waste money on console to buy halo 3. Fuck that.

No offense but you guys are idiots. Halo 3 is all about quallity, as you can see the Campaign missions are very good looking and beautiful. Nothing is a background image, it's actually polygons. I make maps on FarCry before and it sure is that hard to make a great map. The storyline is groundbreaking and only players who haven't played Halo 2 or Halo 1 would be the only ones disappointed. They make the worst ending from Halo 2 make sense. There are no health packs in this game, they have 'shields' that regenerates which basicly replaces the annoying health pickup first-person shooters. A lot of balance has been added in Halo 3, especially on the Battle Rifle. They have the Forge system, not only it's a map editor that can't edit geometry but you can have 8 players in total to edit and screw around with the maps or have a magic carpet ride and everything. You can also shoot down players who are in the 'Editor' mode.

Nothing in Halo 3 would be cheap, unless some idiots who uses Forge to their advantage points. You can ignore prepubescent little boys by hitting the back button and hit ignore, so you can have a better experience. Matchmaking is balanced out, from ranks and skills so you won't see a single player in the lead of the entire game. In ranked matches, the other opponents are muted so you won't get trashtalked so it's all about competetion. Most battles in the Campaign are epic size, the enemy AI are extremely smart but the allies are a bit stupid. Halo 1 brought gaming with shields, Halo 2 is duel wielding and Halo 3 is the "Equipments" in which reminds me a lot of Real Time Strategy perspectives like throwing a bubble shield, mines, gravity lifts, regenerator and so on. There are a lot of new weapons and vehicles, and the ones I consider the best are the Gravity Hammer and the Chopper which one is like a motorcycle on steroids while the other can anhillate anything and send it to the sky. Nothing is cheap, especially the "Support Weapons" (Which is taken idea from FarCry on Xbox expect third person point of view) in which you can rip out turrets, grab a flamethrower and a missle pod that can lock on to vehicles.

There are saved films, yes it's been done before but it is the first console game to have it. Nobody can lie, it can catch cheaters, you can do slow-mo and so on. The only thing I'm disappointed is that the sounds are not deep if slowed down or light if speeded up. It gives a lot of strategy, and it helps millions of players who doesn't have capture card that records videos, screenshots to their computers. Also in screenshots, at the site you can have them configured as comics. Very interesting.

There are new game modes such as VIP in which you have both teams with an important player to protect and to kill the opposing. And a new one called Infection in which a few starts off with swords and uses it to let 'humans' get infected. Kind of disappointed that it doesn't have a flood character models. But it did replace the custom varient from Halo 2 in which you'd have to change teams to green but you don't have to do that anymore.
You can edit game modes with Forge and their varients, from score, gravity to weapon ammo and respawn rate and so on. You can make a game with one flag, two flag, same goes to the bomb with a role of offense and defense gameplay. Not a lot of games has those.

There's finally online co-op, we know it's not the first game to have online co-op but it can be the first game on consoles to have online co-op without having the developers editing the geometry and removing levels in Doom 3 or how to remove cutscenes like in Serious Sam 2.

Don't forget that there are armor customization, they're unlockable. There's emblem, color custumization and so on. And also, there are new control schemes in Halo 3 so you don't have to smash your X button on everything. X Button is for equipments, RB and LB is to reload, switch grenades and activate objects. It's good because it's just by your trigger, it doesn't bother your melee, switching to secondary weapon, jumping and looking around. That's the big problem from most first-person shooters on consoles, it was Halo 1's fault for that.

Don't compare this to Unreal Tournament III, I'm a Unreal Tournament player and I know a lot of things from Unreal Tournament III. They finally have a story-base, there are Necris vehicles counterparts to the Axon and the weapons are heavily upgraded from balance to how the guns looks. Graphics are amazing, like Halo 3 it's made of polygons. Instead of shields, it's the old-school health. There are new elements of gameplay, like the "Equipments" like the green boxes to slow everything in it. Everything in this game has been redefined and repolished, it's already done and they're still polishing to perfection.

Crysis is beautiful, but the gameplay macinacs is like a standard shooter. You can completely modify your weapons from silencers to ammo clips and scopes. There's a heavily powerful map editor that allows players to edit clouds, geometry, brushes, land and so on. I'll need to edit this page to add more info...

If you think Halo 3 is crap, tell that to 4 million players. And later, 20 million buyers. That's pretty much the highest point where Halo 2 went in sales. I'd like to see you do better.

It's sad how the Xbox 360 controllers has a strong auto-aim on Halo 2 Vista, it's an unfair advantage to PC gamers.

Did you ever beat Halo 2? In the end the elites left the covenant cause the brutes were being gay, basically the elites and spartans teamed up against the brutes and prophets.

We were talking about multiplayer characters. xD

Its only one spartan, unless you include Sgt. Johnson (He's a spartan 1), the rest are in Onyx with no knowledge of whats happening in Halo 3.

Just beat Halo 3 and had been playing four hours of LAN multiplayer. No -real- spoilers here but the feint of heart may not wish to read anything.

Campaign? Ridiculously awful. Worst motherfucking shit ever. The entire time I kept saying to myself "I can't wait until things get really interesting." They never did. You spend barely 90 minutes fighting pussy covenant bastards who don't put up a fight at all. The Brutes are weaker than they were in Halo 2 and their AI is terrible. Bungie spent all this time talking about all the cool new Brute behavior and tactics and vehicles and all of that is over and done with before the game even starts. After those 90 minutes are up, you never see the Covenant again. You spend the next six hours fighting nothing but the Flood. Now, you may have heard that the Flood are a little different than they used to be. They are a little different. They're actually more annoying to fight then ever since they rarely use guns, and you constantly find yourself out of ammo. I spent a good two hours doing nothing but melee flood with the butt of my rifle.

As for the actual story, there are a ridiculous amount of continuity errors from the previous games. Which is funny, because those concessions don't help the story at all. By the time you get to the end of the game, numerous characters have made sudden reappearances and are then killed off in the dumbest, most anti-climactic ways that it hurts. The worst part is.. absolutely nothing is resolved and none of the story transitions make any sense. Nothing is ever explained, the world is just suddenly mysteriously different with no explanation why. Fucking awful...

The multiplayer? Well, things are a little different now. You move a little bit slower and weapons do a little bit more damage. The Assault Rifle you start with is like a Battle Rifle that is automatic and does twice the damage. You'll rarely find yourself putting it down. I've been playing the campaign all day, so I'm pretty familiar with the new controls and the changes to weapons as well as the new equipment. I've got two friends who, in Halo 2, I could easily go 25-0-0 against right now. We played four games of Halo 3, and we added on another guy who had never played any Halo before in his life. The scores of the games were all about 25-22-20-18. This goes back to what I was saying about moving slower and weapons doing more damage. If someone sees you, you're fucked. Very rarely did anyone escape after being shot at. Perhaps that will change, but as first impressions go that is pretty fucking ridiculous that someone who has never played any Halo before is right in the tails of people who have.

The thing with the story, is that ever since the beginning, it's been part of the giant universe that Bungie has set up.

Every single one of their games is all in the same universe and they all relate to one another. Saying one of their games has a stupid story is pretty much the equivalent to saying a certain period of history was totally stupid and that humanity deserves to get its 15 years back for that.

I know it doesn't make up for that, but still, everyone looks at Halo as a totally separate story from say.. Marathon and Pathways Into Darkness.

I'll say it, I like Halo 3, I don't dislike the story of that part of the Bungie universe, but I don't like it either. It wasn't bad, but yeah, continuity errors are pretty serious, which will hopefully be explained in some sort of novel or graphic novel like Halo 1 to 2 was explained.

I don't argue for or against the game, I'm just putting up points that aren't considered.

I'm wondering if they'll release another book that takes place after Onyx, because that was a huge cliff hanger to me.
