I'll cite two: First, look at WarBoards. It has an IRC channel that gets used by about 10 people, and you're lucky to see any of them there at any given time.
Second, look at Staredit.net. It had an IRC channel that failed.

Why do you think I host a Teamspeak and spam my IP on sen, nobody joins except for lulz anymore, even though we offer mapping assistance, but it doesnt make SEN better. I wish it could but it doesnt.
SEN Already is one of the best sites because its survived throughout the ages of SC and its various problems.
