That's why I ally the player to the enemies.
None.
Mind control to aim all spells seems preddy lame, It will be too much like snipers and alot of people dont like that type of aiming system. Not all spells should be directly to a person aswell, Most of the spells in TS were like budokai, Just create a damaging unit by the hero.
None.
Maybe keeping it as simple as possible is the best idea; no mind control for aiming. And, if you're okay with it, I'd like to do a complete renovation of your map's terrain, and possibly on a different tileset as well.
None.
If you want to revamp the terrain, go ahead. I'd prefer it to be on Twilight if possible tho.
So what do you guys have against my mind control thing?
None.
I just think it's annoying. And twilight is difficult to make good terrain with.
None.
Well, if you really want to use a different tileset, go ahead I guess. Ice world or Ash would probably be best, but w/e.
I don't think the mind control thing would be annoying. All the player needs to do is press the DA's hotkey, then "C" (or whatever mind control's hotkey is), then click the target. It's less annoying then having to use the moving air unit, which might glitch as well.
None.
ah ha i see you are busy working on your own AoS map
nice ideas btw. is it far off completion?
None.
@MetalGear: Yes, this is far from completion. Getting grounded hasn't helped...
Anyway, I have decided to start writing "character analysis" posts where I make an in-depth analysis of each of the characters, partially because of boredom but mostly to help with balancing and stuff. I won't be writing them in any particular order. Here's the first batch:
Character Analysis: FENIX
Fenix is a straight offensive character with a partial focus on anti-ground combat. His largest advantage is his high hit points: He has the HP of both his Zealot and Dragoon forms, which is quite a bit higher than normal.
Fenix's signature ability is I Fear Not Death, which causes him to instantly come back as a Dragoon at his position when he dies as a Zealot instead of respawning at the base after a delay. (If he dies as a Dragoon, he respawns at the base as a Zealot after a delay.) This increases his hit point total substantially, and increases his range greatly and gives him an anti-air attack when he dies as a Zealot. Fenix's other spells are focused on combat but can be used as support spells.
The best counters for Fenix are air units, which he can't attack while in Zealot form. Melee units are also effective counters for him: In this map, melee units have fairly high attack values compared to the ranged units but have trouble getting within range of the ranged units. If Fenix is in melee combat and dies, however, his Dragoon is right next to an enemy melee fighter and he will probably have to retreat.
Character Analysis: GREY TEMPLAR
Grey Templar is something of an "oddball" character. He has powerful anti-ground support spells but no form of ground attack until he researches his ultimate. He is an effective counter for most air units and, if he co-ordinates well with the other players, a potent anti-ground unit. He can also use his Force Field spell to "push" allies past enemy heroes and simultaneously put a barrier between the enemy and his ally, which will be quite frustrating for the Zerg if he manages to pull it off.
Counters for Grey Templar are characters which can drain mana and thus make him useless against ground until he regenerates some mana. Stalker Slayer is a particularly good example of this, as he can use Crippling Blow or Mana Blockage to block Grey Templar's spells and then pummel him with normal attacks.
Character Analysis: DESTINY ARCHON
Destiny Archon is an offensive warrior, but his spells are fairly odd for one. The closest thing he has to an attack spell is Lightningport, which has a large drawback: If one of the spawned Archons dies, Destiny Archon is significantly weakened, and his spawned Archons are pretty fragile. Heroport is also a good spell for attacking ranged heroes with, because then he doesn't have to run up to them and expose himself to the ranged unit's attacks while doing so.
I really, really like the destiny archon. It has a uniqueness to it. I can't wait to see how he plays out.

I've decided to change Metal Gear's Overclock spell to an activated (non-passive) spell that creates Goliaths or Valkyries that last a few seconds, depending on which form he is in: If he's in Goliath form when he casts it, he gets Goliaths; if he casts it while in Valkyrie form he gets Valkyries, and if he casts it while in Dropship form nothing happens. You guys like the change?
None.
I have decided not to do a store. It takes the emphasis away from the hero/upgrade choices, and the inventory system could be confusing. I'm also changing Swarmcaster back to a Scantid, because there aren't any transports any more. Sticky, take the lack of transports/gravlifts into consideration when designing the terrain, please.
(Btw sticky, which tileset did you decide on?)
None.
I made it on Jungle, I know lots of maps use it, but it's the easiest to use, has lots of layers, and can fit multiple themes (ie. mud is a dark theme, jungle is a wilder/good theme, ruins could be a civilized theme)
I just sent you the basic outline.

Teh terrain is better than hawt secks. Sticky is an epic terrainist. Keep it up sticky!

terrain is better than hawt secks
I doubt that, unless you have an STD that makes sex painful.
None.
I haven't done anything more than a basic layout. Wait a while, tomorrow is the last day of school before Thanksgiving, so I'll probably be able to do some more terrain, then On Wednesday, I don't have school, so I can finish it.
None.
Remember I'm here to help you with it, I think it would be best if I focused on individual pieces rather than a large area, Maybe like a cool detail. Perhaps an extened blend of a bridge or somthing of the sort.

Talk to stickynote about that. If you could do something like that extended twilight terrain thing, that would be cool. (Not necessarily the same thing, I mean something of equal "WOWTHATSTEHRAWRZ"-ness.)
None.
How about we each (me and pigy) make our won terrain, and we show you it, and then you pick the one you like better?
None.
I'd prefer it if you'd work together on it, it'll be moar epic that way.
