So how the hell does that make the operating system and the hardware off less quality?
Oh wait.. All that means is that the operating system is less popular. Sort of like Linux compared to Windows, so I'm guessing you think Linux is a piece of shit too? But you know what does make something less quality? Having to use two gigabytes of RAM for an operating system just for it to run smoothly. Or having to deal with problems like security. What does that remind you of? This post was edited 2 times, last edit by ~:Deathawk:~: Oct 25 2007, 1:34 am.

Regardless of whether you use it or not, the fact is that Windows Vista takes about two gigabytes for it to run smoothly and is much more vulnerable to viruses than Mac OS X and whatever else you want to throw in there. Whether you get viruses or not, does not matter either. Windows 2000 does have security issues. So if you want an OS to comment on, start there.
So wait... you think Mac OS X is a piece of shit since it can't play games.. then, we come to the conclusion that OS X can't play games because it's not as popular as Windows.. then we come to the conclusion that OS X and Linux are both not as popular as Windows. So with that being said, Linux suffers the same problem that OS X has (it can't play games not programmed for it) yet you don't call Linux shitty. So basically, you just dislike Mac because you have no clue what you are talking about. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I don't know why you keep saying Linux can't play games, It doesn't have all the compatibility issues Mac users struggle over. The right Linux build works fine with most games playable on Windows.
Furthermore I am not using Vista, and I don't know why you would compare operating systems released 6 years apart, whereas I'm comparing two OS's released 1 year apart. And again I do not have security issues. I don't know why some people do, but in the years I have used 2k I can't recall a single time someone has hacked into my computer or stolen any of the information on it. The very worst thing I've seen is a Trojan virus which didn't live more than a few hours and didn't accomplish anything except to redirect every shortcut link to another folder. And lastly, I never once said OSX was a piece of shit. You're assuming that based on the fact I called the way his windows is setup a piece of shit. What he has done is officially duplicate another operating system over his current one, I assume, using programs he legally and/or illegally obtained over the internet. Its both useless because Windows pretty much has all the features he just added and more harmful to his computer due to the extra memory he's eating up. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Linux can't run a lot of games natively. A lot of companies have do not program games for Linux natviely. And lol, if you're telling me running games in Cedega/WINE is even worth considering, then you're really wrong. It doesn't compare to running native at all. A lot of games do not work too. Also, it's not like Mac does not have games running for it too. Ermm, I don't understand with this two OS's released 6 years apart and all that stuff.. Care to elaborate..? I do not care about your personal experience, there are more security holes in XP/2000/Vista WHATEVER than there is on OS X. So wait, you deny calling OS X a piece of shit this far into the argument? Okay. However, if his computer runs fine or without any slowdown, I don't see a problem with making it more functional and better looking. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Also, just because no one gives a shit about OSX doesn't mean there aren't security holes all over. For all you know it might be more vulnerable than Windows but you never will know because we can safely assume the greater majority of all hackers and virus authors only target Windows and Windows based operating systems purely because they dominate the market. Sure you can claim macs have less problems in these fields, but like I just said ... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

They are upgrades, like XP to Vista, etc. OS X is built on a better kernel, at least. :\ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Go ahead and compare them:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_kernels They are about the same. Also, Linux wipes the floor with both NT and XNU. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
