Is it any good? My last waterfall sucked, but I think this one's a lot better. It's simple and I think it still looks good (and for the record, only one of those sprites, the rightmost one, is there for hiding blockiness :)).

Inspired by a screenie from Darksnow :).

Pretty cool; simple and well designed. I would have placed some sort of small water doodad on the right-most portion of the top pool, as well as the left-most portion, just to balance things out.

Could you re-post the screenshot with the grid disabled, please?

Honestly it just looks like you stuck some short cliffs on the back part of the waterfall and put sprites on completely normal cliffs... to make it look like it was falling but everything is still the same height...

I agree with SamSizzle. Some good waterfalls I know of come from a good rp. I will edit the link in a sec, Rp - Lathirion I believe has a wonderful mountain in the topleft corner with waterfalls on it. The trick he used was to actually change terrain height, connect the two pools of water with water tiles. Doing this chops up whatever smooth blends you have, but you can cover them up with tree sprites to make it look natural. Then, add those doodads that you had on originally, then as a plus (if you want) it looks good with dying hallucinated units at the bottom of the fall, to make for a mist sort of thing.

Um, yes, that's what I did. Much better than my old waterfalls XD.

I think the best waterfall was by WoodenFire in Siege Dyne II, the map made by Fwop_

Here's the waterfall from Siege Dyne II. It's got observers going down to give it the moving water feel and hallucinated units for the splash at the bottom. That game is amazing. <33
