Are you sure? I don't want to do the work only to find out it de-syncs.
Also, if it doesn't de-sync I have a ton of ideas for multiplayer text games.

While what Farty was saying is technically true, it isn't a vehicle for enabling multiplayer for local EUDs. Setting a switch or a death counter as an action of a reading a player-side address itself will not cause a desync, however, any physical-world difference setting that switch or DC makes will cause a desync.

I understand that but my map(s) won't make any changes other than text and minerals.

If minerals cause a de-sync I can display scores, with a little work, as text.

If the only result of those deathcounts being modified is display text, then you'll be fine. Setting resources will desync. And, yes, you should be able to use the leaderboard just fine.

Would it be possible to use the deaths from the EUDs to set another death counter, which can then modify a physical world difference?

..physical world difference?
Once this happens, it desyncs. There is no way around it.

I'm probably looking at this wrong, but I think ultimo means, if the EUD sets a death, then a player runs a Display text trigger, which the others can't see. No desync would occur.

So if player 1 hit the X key and it changed a death for player 2 and then displayed text for player 2 it wouldn't de-sync?

I could use a leaderboard for scores and that won't de-sync?

It seems you misunderstood me. If player 1 presses X and it changes a death of player 2 it will only change the deaths of player 2 for player 1; for player 2, the deaths of player 2's units will remain unchanged. You can't make this map multiplayer-interactive, though you could make it so that each player in the game is playing it as if it were singleplayer without desyncing them. This isn't very useful, though. What I said in my last post may also have come off wrong- you can set the Leaderboard without desyncing but the Leaderboard will only be set that way for each individual player. You wouldn't be able to have all the players' individual scores on there either, since your chart of deaths won't reflect their changes.

Looks like I have to test other ways to do this. Do deaths transfer from player to player? Say P1 deaths for marine are 6 would this remain true for P2's P1 deaths of marine?
I know you just said they do not but I'm assuming its because I was using an EUD.

It indeed was because you were using a local EUD.

Multiplayer version is completed although untested due to my lack of friends on b.net lol
Check the first post to download it.

Test it out and let me know how it goes.

You obviously haven't read the thread

Even with hyper triggers, though, the command latency might be too long from a barracks or gateway setup.

Glad you all like it :)

I don't have time to test a barracks for at least another day or two.

The next text game is going to be much more elaborate with over 600+ triggers just for display.

remember to use the accumulate condition, not the bring condition.

*UPDATE*

Get the multiplayer version below. It uses a barracks for controls.

Anyways, @LostInMyself - did you use accumulate or bring detection?

a quick opening of the map would tell you its accumulate ;P
Anyway has anyone tested multiplayer?

This could be applied beautifully to this map in making it multiplayer.
