The Marine
Above all other units, the Marine is the most abused and mistreated unit of all in Starcraft. As former resistance soldiers who have once struggled to topple over the foundations of Starcraft to remove the role of the marine in Terran's General Forces, they eventually becomes marines themselves. Blizzard first depicted the cruel reality of these 'Marines' in the Brood War Cinematics. Featurless, fatiqued, lonely, and depressed these Marines are forced to rid themselves from the face of humanity to combat against overnumbering zerg forces. For the both the audience, and General Dugalle it may appear to very amusing to watch these brave men sacrafice their lives for a greater cause, but in reallity it is merely a facade picture. Every hour it is estimated that apporixmately (from random website) 10,000 Marines lose their lives in Battle.net Servers to fuel the player's need of amusement.
In their cries: ("Argh!") We as members of humanity do NOT pay attention to these tragic voices as a loss of innocent life, but instead veiw these voices as a loss of a number and instead responsd to the voices by producing more of the same cries.
In the Blizzard's announcement of Starcraft 2 (First Trailer), the Company does not merely reveal a new game to players which will raise the companies shares by many folds, but they also reveal the tragic life of a Marine. Within the confinments of the Barracks, the Marine, scarred and fatiqued by the adversities of starcraft is chained by the constraints of the player and is forced to march into war. When the Marine is finished equipping he leaves this important remark "Hell, its about time", he is actually awaiting for his death, to end the calamities which we the players have brought to upon him!
In Blizzcon the response to the Marine's remarks did not leave us human beings remorsed of sad for this upcomming death; Instead, cheers of excitment filled throughout the world, especially in Seoul Korea. This lefts us to question how we as members of society can be so cruel to humanity as a whole. Maps such as Marine Tug of War and perhaps even some of my maps contribute to the expectancy death rate of the Marine. Within each and every single of these lives being sacraficed bears a story that we as members of humanity must listen.
Solution:
1. We must establish a Marine Foundation Society in Starcraft. This way we can prevent the loss of innocent Marines within Starcraft.
2. DO NOT USE STIMPACK:
"The use of stimpacks is even more of a hot-button subject. These inbuilt chemical delivery systems dose marines with a powerful mix of synthetic adrenaline, endorphins, and a psychotropic aggression enhancer. Marines on stims benefit from greatly increased speed and reflexes, but are subject to long-term side effects including and not limited to insomnia, weight loss, mania/hypomania, seizures, paranoiac hallucinations, internal hemorrhaging, and cerebral deterioration. " - Starcraft 2 Offical website/ Marines
For all of SC Players who never realized the brutal truth, using Stimpacks is an extemely inhumane treatment on human-beings (Even if you have medics >:O ) !
3. Ban the use of Marines in your maps!
4. If you REALLY need Marines make only atmost four in every game.
5. Always upgrade Armor not Weapons for your marines:
Waterinthehole (10:25:43 PM): Armor provides protection and safety to the marines from harms way
Waterinthehole (10:26:12 PM): although weapons can do that vice-versa the phsycological impact of killing is too shocking for any soldier to handle.
