Hey, I'm using scmdraft and I need to figure out how to make square tiles act like walls. Any Ideas?

Just find an unwalkable tile in the master pallete, like the edge of a building or cliff.

Cool, thanks! I'll definately do that.

Just out of curiosity, is their any other way to create walls with square tiles?

um you could make a custom wall.... but it wouldnt be square... Also you can just use null tile as a wall that you can see/ shoot over

Not true... You can see and shoot over it... Unless you're talking about some special null tile that you made or something?

Okay, so either I'm on shrooms (which is not very likely) or my computer is weird.
...Or I didn't quite understand your first post.

The trouble is that my units are on Jungle Terrain and, unfortunately, they are walking
through the wall I made, which is built out of High Ruins Terrain.

Note: I am not using High Jungle Terrain, just Regular Jungle Terrain.

Any help?
Thanks,
~BJ

Oops, forgot to mention that I'm using only Square Terrain.

Oh no no, you need to use walls, not simply raised terrain. :) use the terrain index and find a square that is regularly part of a cliff face and use that. And if you want to check if you can walk on it, simply open the units layer and select a unit to place, and it will "grey-out" the parts that are unwalkable. :) I'll post some pics if you need more help lolz.

And yes, my walls are now working a-okay.
Thanks,

Lawl. The only way you can walk on null is if you drop a unit on it with a dropship or shuttle or overlord.

Or if you build creep on it, or if you move a unit onto the walkable null, among others...

And when you use square tiles as walls, remember where the wall tile your using would originally be placed. Many wall tiles from cliffs facing -> this way do not block view from units standing on <- this side, and visa versa. Also for things like stairs, you can get strange effects like blocking view from the bottom up but not the top down, and blocking from the top down but not the bottom up.

It's not possible to just walk onto null terrain. And you can't build on null. It says green and all that but you can't build, you can only place in the editor.

Wait, so if you make a creep building will you be able to walk on the generated creep from it?

I dunno about that. I've never tried that.

You can create a unit on the null terrain and it can walk on it, but once off it will stay off, you can lift/land buildings on walkable null... as far as that creep idea that would be interesting if it worked.
