StarCraft Team Fortress - Beta Released

It's BACK! StarCraft Team Fortress creator Hercanic never gives up! He's secretly been back in action working on his pride and joy, STF! From the dark corner of his cubicle in the Campaign Creations HQ (non-existing at the moment) he has partnered up with famed programmer Poiuy_qwert (creator of PyMS) to reproduce STF from the ground up. Using new elements and tools to modify StarCraft, he's brought back something worthy of making you reinstall your most prized memory, if you had for some unknown reason uninstalled it. Trust me, I've played it, and it's worth every waking morning that you sat up on your bed and murmured.. "I wish STF would of kept going.."

Welcome back the active updates of StarCraft Team Fortress!

Read more about the announcement, download the Beta, and discuss with us over at our forums in this thread!

The original mod was based on Team Fortress, he just kept the name for familiarity's sake.

she/her

I shall try this mod ASAP.

In the mean time, how did you get all of the mineral positions and counters to work?

Is it wrong that I've never heard of poiuy_qwert? Also that I never heard of this mod? And the only thing I know about Hercanic is his name sounds like a crab?

BW Map god... did you come post on SEN because somebody told you to? If yes, please do not. Can an actual modder (from MM) answer these please?

No, it's not wrong of you to not know who these ppl are because they, like myself, aren't very active in the mapping forums/community. Poiuy I would now consider a program developer as his programming skills have evolved 10 fold in the past year as has Heinermann's. Hercanic has been around the modding community for a very long time and continues to refine this mod that started many years ago.

The mod is a good one and very popular. If you haven't played many mods and would like to experience the alien feeling one gets when playing something new, this would be a good one to test out and I would highly recommend it. It is still under development, but already shows great promise.

Whether BWMap-God was a plant, who the f knows.

Aslo, CCreations is a super site and one of very few that specializes in the Single Player experience. SEN-BWMaps.net-CCreations, and the new "nexus.org" SHOULD be affiliated and share members. IP should definitely continue reaching out to AJ @ Nexus.org, Lavarinth @ CC, and Nightmarjoo @ BWM.net. An affiliate link amongst those 3 sites would seem a no-brainer and good for all 3. CC campaigns go way back to WOTT and beyond and have a special place on my hard drive. The new admin have done a great job in renewing the website as it almost disappeared there a few years ago. Whether Lav was in a hurry I can't say, but it is in a bit funny to have a news link that says for the most part "come to our site to discuss this mod. Nevermind that there is already a post in our own modding forums here at SEN."

DOH! :) ... my bad. Promoting others work tho is very valiant of you and something more community members should do damnit!

Sorry I haven't been too active at CC. I have lurked there for years and years. I think I only actually became an official member last year. One thing I'd like to see with CC, is that some of those campaign .exes be updated to modern Sempqs. Like the CI one for instance. If I'm not mistaken, that campaign doesn't have any mem edits, as do a lot of the custom campaign .exes. And so just ripping the files from CI.mpq into an .exe would allow the campaign to be played without all the downgrading hassles etc. .. prob this is more pm material .. sorry lazy. :) Anywhooo.. Thnx for keeping CC alive!

Back on topic. WMC Mod night please! Temptation + STF + STroopers + LUnbound all in one night!

I resent that it has nothing to do with TF. I resent you for advertising your site via link on multiple forums, and I resent you calling me a plug. If I could lower your karma, I would.

Poor shocko, we should all be super nice to him as he is offended by everything.[/sarcasm]

Everyone should know who poiuy_qwert is. He is a coding god amoung men. And besides, this news post was made by someone who didn't even make STF.

I have that on queue at the moment, soon after we finish transferring the site to a more up to date management system than SHTML. (Very slow one-manned process.)

Administration here approved the article, so it was their call.

What multiple forums?

Shameless plug refers to the link in question, not you.

Download 0059b Hotfix! Desync bug isolated and squashed!
(Released March 6th, 2009)
Turns out it was how the mineral fields were made invisible. They didn't agree with the fog of war after being explored.

This is a quick fix intented for multiplayer only. I simply ordered all mineral fields to die on start, killing the bug but also disabling the Zerg AI. If you wish to play singleplayer, the original release is still your best bet. For online play, only use 0059b. Just be sure everyone else playing doesn't mistakenly load the original! That'll definately cause an immediate desync for them. =oP

Next release will include a long-term solution for mineral fields, as well as a rework of the Territory Claim mechanic.

Thank you for your patience!
