USS_Cane's Resident Evil Maps:

Hi. I just wanted to upload and share what iv been creating during my starcraft years, and that is my 6 Resident Evil maps. Iv spent much time making them and recieved mainly positive feedback about them so i though: why keep people from the art that they may enjoy for free?...

So i decided to post it on the biggest mapping site i know which is the site your looking at right now. For now iv uploaded my 3 part defense map serie, and that is all il upload to SEN, later on il post a link to a zip file with all my 6 RE maps, including my (i think) most famues from the old SEN: Resident Evil: The Forgotten Story single-player RPG which took me 1 year and 800 triggers. So here it goes.

Maps Descriptions:
Resident Evil: The Forgotten Story
Play a role of an avarage Raccoon City civilian in a character class/skills type RPG, using many diffrent kinds of melee and range weapons. A unique trigger system allows each gun weapon to have a diffrent kind of ammo to use, so you cant shoot shotgun if you only have 9mm ammo. Also an NPC interactions, expiriance points, leveling, occupation classes, skills, environment interactions, building your own character systems.

BioHazard: CODE XX
Another RPG in Raccoon City, this time you can play the role of an avarage civilian OR Resident Evil well known heroes, trying to survive the incident.

BioHazard: The Last Bastion
My first Defense Map, not related to my 3 part Def series. Again taking place in Raccoon City, this time you play as the R.P.D. Officers trying to defend the Police Station from upcoming zombie hordes.

BioHazard: J's Bar Defense
http://www.staredit.net/files/1326/
BioHazard: Hospital Defense
http://www.staredit.net/files/1327/
BioHazard: Station Defense
http://www.staredit.net/files/1328/
In all 3 of this maps you control from 1 to 3 units, all of them are characters from Resident Evil: Outbreak PS2 games, some have 2 weaons you can switch from - a gun and a melee weapon, all of them have a diffrent skill you can use from 1 to 3 times trough out the game depending on the dificulty level you chose to expiriance. To survive and defend the locations you need to co-operate with other players and use ammo/skills/micro/tactics wisely trough out the duretion of the whole gameplay. If you played RE: Outbreak series on PS2 you will notice the terrain is virtualy identical to the environment presented in those games. I hope you enjoy it, thats the reason i made them, gl.

eh cool... but pics? descriptions? Anything that makes me want to dl these maps at all???

Btw, 800 triggers is not a lot, a lot of good / impressive / professional maps can have 2k or more.
Anyways, update the post...

I think any Zombie Maps fan (as i always did) would dl such maps without all the details concerning the map. But thanks for suggesting, il guess il add more info.

Edit:
Oh and idk and dont really care about how many triggers "professional" maps have, 800 took me really much time to do, thats why i mentioned it.

It doesn't matter. The map just has to be fun and professional-looking. Astrogears has a shitload of triggers, but it's confusing to the average b-netter, making it (maybe) not so fun for the average B-netter.

Downloaded J's bar, hospital, and station.

All though I could beat none of them (pretty hard, but mostly teams who didn't know what to do :P)
The games are well made except for the fact it can be a little to specific at times and people kept saying it was confusing (sort of).
The special ability system was fine for me, loved the switch your weapon thing.
However the games were a bit too centered on doing exactly this and that. People kept killing the keys and lighters because they thought that was picking it up (maybe higher health to avoid this?) and the doors got in the way a lot if the door person didn't know what he was doing. This game is certainly not nooby friendly by any means because if your a noob with a somewhat important spot then the entire team suffers a lot.
It's so random sometimes. How are we suppose to know how to get this unit or kill these tough units or this guy is suppose to pick up this item and bring it to this location without explanation? (only time I saw this was during the first game which said to bring the lighter to the bar, barricades were sort of self explanatory though)
Overall explanation for many things is needed to make this more nooby friendly, and maybe a bit less harsher system.

The gameplay aside from all that was good. People get limited ammo and items (survival horror) and have to defend the helicopter pad (defense). This is way better than all those redundant infinite ammo kill 500 units by hold positioning your 10 marines at one spot for the entire game.

Loved the special abilities section a lot. Although limited in use they can be helpful, but once you run out your out. The ability to switch between weapons was cool too.

Adding times where you get help (like some RPD vehicle pulls up to the front and drops some officers off at a certain time to give to all players) could give the players hope to continue instead of like "omfg we're already holed over here we're fcked omg"

Overall: GOOD GAME, would be amazing games if they were less confusing and more self explanatory. Giving us a little hope too isn't a bad idea either ^^ .

(BTW I cannot dl Resident Evil: Forgotten Story, Biohazard: Code XX, and Biohazard: Last Bastion, is there a way we can find these maps?)

Im really glad u liked it even to some extent, becouse it rarly happens due to what u mentione (not nooby friendly), i found some pack of ppl that loved my survival maps but its just rare becouse general population likes maps made in 5 minuts more, like impossible or anything not innovative, ofcourse with some exeptions, i may upload the rest of my maps here later, u gave me some motivation lolz, hoped u enjoyed it.

And yep its really hard to find some people that will be good at it mainly becouse it requires thinking, logic and tactic which requires not being lazy which is rare in sc. Anyway i know its hard but it was meant to be that way, im a kind of gamer that never plays on easy and likes challenges. Game whitinitself is a challenge as a definition thats why i make them so u try hard and then win with satisfation + i won all 3 parts on hardest difficulty with 2 ppl in game, me and my friend. Another thing to add is that i recantly finished Part 4 and il be uploading it soon, nice to hear anything from anyone in dieing sc about my creation so thanks and enjoy

sounds like moisture control is often a pressing concern in your city
