Let me show you how to hump without making love.

Sanctuary Dyne
My entry for the RPG contest and Mq3 shall be assisting me in this endeavor.

Players: 3
Tileset: Jungle?
Size: 64x64

Features:
Magazine Use/Refill System
I will be using the Zerg Psi counter as the magazine status, the in-use psi being filled mags remaining and the max control as how many magazines you have total. You can refill magazines at the Sanctuary, transfer magazines between eachother or ammo crates.

"Click n Forget" Grenade System
Using Lethal's waypoint detection system, you will throw grenades simply by grouping two wraiths, shift-clicking them to a location and off goes your grenade to unleash booms. Different types of grenades MAY be at your disposal, don't want to get your hopes up at the moment.

Short-Term and Time-Based Missions
You will get event-based missions that run along the lines of escorting survivors, recovering supplies or protecting the Sanctuary from infected.

Achievements
For the lulz mostly, when you do certain things, you get an achievement and might get a reward as such.

Constant Action
Something is always going to be happening, so you shouldn't get bored.

Bosses
...Duh. Super Infected, gogogogo.

Information: You are defending the local Sanctuary, one of the few refuges from the world-wide undead crisis. The infection has only been about for a week now and has already exploded, roughly 80% of the populace has been infected and the rest are making their way to local Sanctuaries set up by people just like you and me. You are one of the few brave enough to fight the infection and assist those lingering survivors into the Sanctuary.

Typical Zombies, but there's going to be a lot of variety and the bosses should keep everything interesting, they pop-up randomly and there's mini-bosses galore, of course.

I am currently working on the ammunition, fine tuning it. Also working on the inventory system, which will most likely be your standard dropship system, with a second immobile inventory sitting in the Sanctuary, so you can drop off items to use later.

I am currently pondering how in-depth I want to make their AI... I'm thinking a lot of static locations to make it flow good and keep the rushes at a good quality. Not to mention I'm not going to let bosses have trouble getting through the mass.

And I'm going to murder that porn addict.

Also, thinking about using the Toss Psi for rounds in the magazine, but that might be a bit over the top and put too much display to look at. Opinions? You all know how much I love feedback :)

I honestly hope that this will not become a typical zombie map. If you could create some kind of a storyline that runs throughout the map, that would be awesome. Also, in the map that I was going to submit, I was going to use your waypoint system for grenades as well, but since you are doing basically the same map I am, I am going to change my map. So I don't get docked points for originality. But, I have some ideas that you may or may not want to use that I was planning on using.

I thought it would be cool if you could detect when the grenade hits something (constantly move a unit underneath the wraith and detect if it is actually underneath it), then the grenade could bounce off. Another idea I thought of was a sort of zombie/animalistic intelligence. The zombies would back off if their numbers were low, and arrive in force, and create some kind of hive-mind AI. Something cool I used in another map that wasn't ever completely finished (I got the first mission done) was that when you killed a zombie, there would be a small chance that a zombie torso and zombie legs would spawn. Maybe if the two got close enough together, you would get a full zombie after some time.

EDIT: I don't like the name. It doesn't roll off the tongue quite right.

It sounds good, but many things seem good until they ultimately end up sucking. :)

I have some good ideas for the AI, dont worry. And yes, the grenades will bounce back when they hit a wall, but since they don't go far, it might not be a good idea to really aim for walls or you might hurt yourself xD

Yesus. The terrain might get boring, but I dont care. Theres going to be a lot of events and I want to prevent zombies running over a large amount of terrain trying to get to you, so... 64x64 it is. It might get changed to ??x64 just to give some room to the systems, not entirely sure if I want to compromise my small map fetish.

Sanctuary Dyne sounds just fine. Certainly better than Sanc Dyne IMO.

He's the one who created Clan Dyne, me and him made a lot of maps together. He's... Basically, another me. Or I am another him. Put it however you want xD
