Sadly enough, UC Berkeley is teaching a course on Starcraft and how it can be used in real life. (Click here) I think this is pretty sad, yet kind of funny. What I especially find funny is this quote:

Calculus and Differential Equations are highly recommended for full understanding of the course.

I don't know about you, but I don't need to take calculus to understand Starcraft.

Okay well after listening/reading a little more, I realized that this class is designed to "apply Starcraft to real-life situations." I still don't understand how learning how to counter a Reaver drop can help people in real life.

Now, about countering the reaver drop:
Surely you're going to need to know exactly what to do. I mean, we will all someday experience a 4-reaver drop into the very bowels of our base.

I believe it recommends you know math because it goes into game theory. Then again a college class was approved (somewhere in California I believe) that taught students about sex with hands-on experience, though that one wasn't for credits. Don't remember how long it lasted though.

Ever thought that maybe since Star Craft is the worlds 'best RTS' or has been claimed to be so, that it would be a very good way for people to build up their mind with being placed in many different scenarios in which you must strategically think your way out?

I've always thought they should have a Star Craft oriented subject somewhere since it came out and I was 11/12. It used to be that back in the good ol' days of Bnet, that SC was like Chess..

But not anymore

Now a SC mapping class is something that would make more sense. Only if it's an online classroom. Else things get creepy.
