SINGLE UNIT MODDING CONTEST 2




SUMMARY: You mod 1 unit's iscript (nothing else), and then we duke them out in an epic FFA!


RULES:
  • Iscript editing only.
  • 1 unit only.
  • Unit.dat and Weapons.dat can ONLY be changed to edit unit flags and weapon flags to your unit ONLY.
  • You can only modify the unit's iscript. No assoiciated iscripts allowed EXCEPT for any associated turrets and interceptors.
  • There is a maximum of 5 spell effects you can use within the entire script(s).
  • Said spell effect must be randcondjmp 32, a.k.a. have a 1/8 chance of firing.
  • Grp editing is allowed.
  • Don't use someone else's unit.
  • Don't try to reach the sprite limit. If I see extreme abuse of sprites/overlays, I will take them out.

Failure to follow any of these rules will result in either modification of the script to comply with the rules or immediate disqualification.


LIST OF BANNED UNITS/SPELLS/WEAPONS:
  • Infested Terran
  • Scourge
  • Spider Mine (the unit)
  • Nuke (the unit and weapon)
  • Mind Control
  • Spawn Broodlings
  • Optical Flare
  • Also, Lockdown/Maelstrom/Stasis will be shortened to avoid imbalancement.


TIPS:
  • Be creative.
  • Use a spell effect.


CONTESTANTS AND THEIR UNITS:
  • ForTheSwarm- Vulture/Jim Raynor (Vulture)
  • A_of-s_t- Lurker
  • TassadarZeratul- Carrier/Gantrithor/Interceptors
  • RoryFenrir- Ultralisk/Torrasque
  • Heinermann- Observer

Note that all units will be made detectors in order to unban the lurker and dark templar.


PRIZE: None, since minerals were disabled.


PM the unit's iscript (preferably in .txt form) to me by Saturday the 14th, 11:59 PM CST. We will have a FFA at the end of the week, Sunday the 15th, 6:30 PM CST, Shadowflare's server, channel Modding Contest!. THE MOD WILL BE 1.15.1!

Post what unit you will use, so no one else uses it.

Refer any other questions/suggestions/comments to me.

Hey... We agreed we'd take out most of those rules and replace them with my system... Didn't we?

Anyway, I'd like to change to the Carrier. Give it some air weapon with the Targets Own Units flag set, please? I won't be using it to attack.

The system was: If you can take on two TassadarZeratul archons OR two TassadarZeratul archons with the flyer flag set, your unit is OP and needs to be nerfed.

Oh, if you don't want to make the Carrier have an attack, then can you set the Broodling's weapon as attacking air please? (Yup, you read that right. My unit is a sexy summoner carrier of great justice. :P ) And I'm going to need a trigger that constantly sets my Carrier to having full Interceptors.

Flyer flag = unit flies. :P Testing them against normal T/Z and flying T/Z (not at once, btw) would ensure that both ground and air attacks are balanced.

And the one-spell rule is one of the ones that would be unneccessary with my system... (The point of my system is to get rid of most of the rules to allow more creativity.)

Your rules are pretty lame/stupid. I could easily create a new GRP for my unit that CONTAINS the overlays... so I might as well use the overlays in my iscript >.> Here's my unit, but it goes against a few of your rules. To that I generously say, "What the fuck ever."

Actually, because I'm an asshole, I'm to rearrage my code so that I lower the overlays dramatically and just use call and returns. That'll show you how pathetic your rules are. Wtf is someone supposed to make? A lame assed unit that spews useweapon command? No thank you. My unit is purewin -- it even made my computer hit 100% use because of the amount of sounds and sprites playing.

Anyway, he actually got rid of a lot of the rules, but apparently didn't get around to editing the post... But if your unit hits 100% CPU, you ARE going to have to redo some stuff, that would crash me, at least...

Btw, you can do more than "spew useweapon command", even with the currently posted rules... I figured out how to make my Carrier create Broodlings, for example. (No, I didn't just put a useweapon 57 [or w/e Spawn Broodlings is] in the attack routine...)

That's really easy to do... why not just try to recreate one of my units from Disunion? One unit has over 1000 lines of code because of its varying attacks. And no, it doesn't always hit 100% CPU, it does that only randomly because of one of it's attacks. And no, that doesn't cause SC to crash >.> It would only lag your computer.

Wait... How would you propose doing the summoner thing? The only ways I could think to do it (except the one I'm using) all failed in testing for various reasons. And Disunion? Where can I dl?

FTS, can you change the Interceptor's air weapon to Consume? And set Consume to Targets Air and Targets Own Units? And set the Interceptor's ground weapon to None? And set the Interceptor to be Zerg?

I know that's not iscript editing, but you said we could edit targeting flags, and that's not that different... And you did give A_of-s_t's science vessel a weapon...

Yes, it was I who downloaded it. The unit is really well made. But if you have a problem with the rules, please give an alternate solution.

I mean the advanced setting for the unit.

And no... BSTRhino did amazing things to the carrier without consideration of the interceptor. Look up Doom Protoss.

EDIT: http://www.moddb.com/mods/ultimate-doom Here's a link to Ultimate Doom. I;ve never downloaded the one on that site, so I'm unsure if it has all the iscript and .js files he included. There is one at starcraft.org, but I have been unable to find their mod section since the revamp. Maybe its in the SENDB?

Well. I need Interceptors for my summoner carrier. And I'm not clever enough to do "amazing things" without interceptors... Also, how is it bad if I mess with the Interceptors?

EDIT: I think I figured out a way to do my summoner without messing with units.dat/weapons.dat (well, maybe a little bit), so ignore my request, FTS.

BSTRhino=pure win. He was as good at iscript as IskatuMesk, if not better.

The below attachment has Zerg, Terran, Protoss, and Ultimate Doom, along with all the js and icc files. PLAY THEM FOR GREAT INJUSTICE.
