Ling's Mafia I: FBI Intervention

Welcome to Ling's Mafia, the remade recreation of what I did before, that was like SEN Mafia.

*^* ROLES IN PLAY *^*

TOWNSPERSON - The average, ordinary townsperson. Their limited powers include the power of persuasion, power of intellect (clue interpretation), and power of the vote. Townspersons have the ability of "SAVE/DODGE" just like SEN Mafia.

FBI AGENT - A trained undercover FBI Agent that was inserted into the small town, guised as a Townsperson. They recieve an additional PMed clue, that may not be shown to others. Its up to them to decipher it, and use it to aid their vote for the daily lynch. After day THREE, they will discover the hidded identity of a local Hacker, and will be able to speak freely with them. Also at this time, they will be cleared to use force upon the town, and will recieve one hit per night. Using this hit however, will forfit their clue the next day. Also, if the Bugged Detective accidently identifies the FBI Agent for the Mafia, the Tamperers may send him false clues. If killed, they appear as though they were a Detective. The FBI Agent will have TWO night lives.

HACKER - A local resident Hacker that becomes discovered by the FBI Agent after day THREE. They have the ability to encode an additional message into the Day Post, limited to 20 words. The only drawback, is that the system that he is hacking has exceptional security, and his message becomes scrambled. (The game hosts will be doing the scrambling.) If the Hacker is attacked by the Mafia, he has two options: Join them, and give their messages to the town, or sacrafice himself to give one last hack to the town. At any time, unless dead, he may select the other option. If killed, they appear as though they were a Townsperson.

DETECTIVE - Each and every night, the Detective makes an "investigation" through PM, and learns the identity of one player of their choice. The Detectives this game will know the identity of the other.

- BUGGED DETECTIVE - One of the Detectives have been "bugged" by a Mafia member. They will recieve ANY information that this random Detective does as well. However, if either Detective figures out the Mafia that bugged him (again, randomized) though their investigation, the bugging will cease. If the one who bugged the Detective is killed, the bug with NOT cease. However, the Detectives will be allowed to scan fallen Mafia members, in an attempt to remove the bug.

BROADCASTER - Broadcasts messages anonymously by PMing the host. He may make one communication per day, which appears with the day post. This communication is limited to 200 characters and may not include a link to a larger message, left by himself.


MAFIA - They've invaded the town, and they each kill someone every night.
The mafia's killing power is calculated by the number still alive. However, the last Mafia will recieve a killing power of 2. If it is a Tamperer still alive, they may use their Tamper ability and a hit if they decided to.

- BUGGER - One of the random Mafia who bugged one of the Detectives. (Read Above: "Bugged Detective")

TAMPERER - Upon knowing of a trained undercover FBI Agent being dispatched to the town, a few of the Mafia decided to attempt to mask their tracks. Although they will be able to leave a false clue at the scene of a Mafia killing, they will also forfit their hit for the night. If killed, nobody will be able to tell if they were a Tamperer or a regular Mafia.



DISCLAIMER - Any of these roles if premade on Maplantis or abroad, I am sorry if it has a different name or function. The roles above are not intended in ANY WAY to be a copy except those so bluntly done so from the normal game. My apologies go to whomever I might have done so in any way. NOTE: Broadcast was renamed to Broadcaster, because I thought it looked better. That is all.




*^* DIFFERENCES IN LING'S MAFIA *^*

(THESE RULES ARE FINAL. However, these rules may be added to at any time.)

- Day and Night will only take 24 hours each. Previous games failed to uphold this.
- You may only abstain ONCE per game, and not on the first day. This is to raise activity, and to lessen the waste of space used in the game. More action, more debate, more Mafia for all.
- If you are inactive for a game and you've requested for auto-signup, and have not posted in it, you will be forgiven for not being there, but if you do post, then dissappear, there will be conquences. The same goes for any new signers.
- The slighest sight of flaming will get you potentionally expelled from our game. Spam is taken lighter, but don't make it an issue.
- As we are not the actual staff of SEN, we cannot grant you mineral prizes. Don't ask.
- Unlike the current SEN Mafia, we have no power over stopping you from changing your avatar or signature for our game. However, it is shunned if you do so. The rule may always be changed.
- Please, make your votes clearly defined with a different color. Don't quote someone else.
- If during the night, a Mafia decideds to hit someone with a role that is also used during the night that won't matter when they're dead, day can commence without their role submission at our discretion.
- If you show a role PM or anyother form of proof of your role to anyone, you will be expelled.
- THESE RULES WILL BE UPHELD TO THE GREATEST EXTENT OF MY POWER AS A NORMAL MEMBER OF SEN. Failure to comply will be dealt with, I ASSURE you.

Due to being enticed to recreating what I thought Mafia would have been but faster, Me and TassadarZeratul will be rerunning our own Mafia. Signups have been cleared, as compared to the list of Speed Mafia, and since Greo has gone inactive, we will be hosting Mafia.

Please, sign up now, and if you'd like to be added to the auto list, be sure to include that.

Also, read the WHOLE post. Information has been changed, including two rules I would like to stress:

It is my pleasure to run a fourm game, but in any case this game should not sway you from the real Mafia, hosted here at SEN. I intend to run the game with all of its rules intact, unlike previous versions of the unofficial game.

Thank you in advance for your support and complyance. With this in mind, I would like to gladly present a brand new round of fun filled Mafia, with a new role compendium. I wish luck to all players, but above all.. More action, more debate, more Mafia for all.

I would also like to say that if anyone notices, just about every special role has a "?" for the remaining number of said roles. (At the very end, the special roles will be revealed to the general public.)

Only the person(s) who was/were/is these roles will know the truth about who is alive or dead. For normal townspersons, I assure you this will be a challenging game because of the multitude of searching and tampering. In the end, its up to you to be the wise voter and find the clues necessary for your victory.

Of course, it isn't easy for the Mafia either. May the best team win.

Oh and thanks for emphasizing it to be a difficult game. Maybe that makes town realize that they all have to work together to win the game.

Hey, I would like to play. I was playing a mafia game over at teamliquid.net and a guy under the name hyperbola mentioned some of the roles you guys use over here and it sounded interesting to me. I won't disappear, I am here to stay and play.

Just hope I'm not mafia AGAIN.

NOTE: To anyone who would like to actually play for a prize this game, donate 25 minerals. Winners will split the pot, however many they are. However, if you would like to bet on the game, you must do so BEFORE it starts.
I will not however run the game with only 3 betters. If less then 4 bet, I will return your minerals. But remember: Betting is not neccessary for game play.

7 more players and I will begin when I visit SEN whenever that is. Please, stay active all, since inactivity rules WILL BE ENFORCED THIS GAME.

You should at least GIVE THE ROLES before the betting begins. At least that way its more logical.
