Minerals & Store -- What will happen

In the near future, minerals will be reset, due to some exploits and coding errors. I warned you it might happen :). They'll be reset to -100 and that will be the new "debt" you acquire by signing up to SEN (instead of 200).
Minerals will be fixed at that time. One bug is you don't get any minerals when quotes are involved. So minerals will flow better after this reset.

As always, there will be the option to disable minerals.

As far as the store and such:
Avatars will remain free. The starting amount is undecided by me to be either 15kb or 20kb (and I will fix this so 15kb = 15kb). There will be store items to upgrade this amount. No mineral option will be around 30kb or so.
Signatures will be earsed and there will be no free item for this. Cost will be relatively cheap and I expect most people to have them after 2 weeks. No mineral option enables signatures by default.
Titles will be really cheap. Again, no mineral option enables this by default (currently it doesn't work, I don't think).
Topic icons will go down to 15 minerals.

ETA on this all?
After I get the DLDB working and fix things with global mods, better reporting system, fix some little bugs... so... you know... eventually.

I've always assumed that quotes weren't taking into account. :-_-:

I think instead of resetting everyone to -100 you should have one or two plateaus. Like just if you're into the positives already you get reset to 0. If you're above -50 but less than 0 you get reset to -50. Everything else is -100. I think that would be more fair.

That might be a possibility, although a weak one because I don't know who's minerals are real.
Also, it's not that quotes aren't taken into account... it's that real text surrounding the quotes seems to get parsed out in some instances, so your post length is a lot smaller than what it should be.

So, what about people with ''fun'' disabled?

How exactly have people been abusing? The only thing I know about was the raffle glitch and I thought that was only like two people, Falkoner and DTBK. Other than that I think most of the people who are into positives already gained it "legitly" although the quality of their posts is questionable, because it's mostly quantity.

Just because I don't shout all the exploits I find doesn't mean they don't exist.

Yes, but how many other people have exploited them? My point is just if it's only you it should be easy enough to just reset your mins only.

I only used the raffle glitch once, and Moose already removed those minerals, I haven't found any other glitches, although I still think that it would really suck if I had to go up from -100...

Will glowing names and such return to the store? Or will something else take their place?

Hmm.. so is "code" better? If minerals don't count with quotes, maybe code boxes will? :omfg:

We could just become Communist and set everyone to 100 minerals - but if you join after that you start down at -100

sounds like moisture control is often a pressing concern in your city
