So now that I have broadband, I thought I'd get one of those free website things that you guys all seem to have like
http://corbobo.dyndns.org/I have a plan for it though, and I would like to know if it's even possible with dyndns before I waste all my time on it. I would like to set up a proxy server like hidemyass.org which will. You see, my work has the best security I've ever seen and it blocks every single one of those proxy sites I use to try and get around it. My managers can't even put in a password or anything to disable it. Now I'm pretty sure this would work since I will be keeping it a secret. The best part is, if I can set this up, the managers are so desperate to check their myspaces and such that they will clock me in whenever the want to use it.
So, can I, and if yes, any links to how-to's that would help? Of course I will be googling everything I can on this in the mean time, but any advice from you guys who have had these things for a while would be appreciated.
Also, should I be worried about anything bad hackers do to people who open things like this up w/o knowing what they're doing? Any special non-default security precautions I should take?
What is your work? They may use a whitelist instead of a blacklist.
Not a whitelist system. I tested by trying to access randomly obscure harmless sites, and it let me.
This is the first time that the Google translate trick hasn't worked for me.
ALL PRAISE YOUR SUPREME LORD CORBO
I do remember some proxy options when you create a dyndns account. After that I don't actually know anything, I just asked doodle for hosting and he hosts my stuff and I use Pie Manage v1.0 to manage my files...
fuck you all
http://www.wagerank.com/2007/how-i-set-up-a-private-anonymous-proxy/It would be even nicer if you could set up accounts and such so that you could force them to clock you or else you kill their account, but i don't know how to do that.
oh wait found a tut for that too:
http://www.deckle.co.za/squid-users-guide/Access_Control_and_Access_Control_Operators#Username_and_PasswordDyndns just provides a domain name for your IP address, it works fine for anything.
None.
I can't even get a regular website up like you guys have it.
I have the DynDNS Updater v4.0.8 running and it seems to be fine. I've not even connected to a router or behind any firewalls so this should be easy.
I wanna get from A to C(proxy server), but I'm already having trouble with B.
So how would I go about setting up a simple site like yours?
Is
This what I should be looking into?
And/Or
this.
After some searching I'm really starting to get the hang of this, but I'd still appreciate comments.

Neither of those, just follow the first tutorial i gave you after you set up your host record.
None.
I've decided on this route.
http://www.webstuffscan.com/2006/12/21/accessing-blocked-websites-use-your-own-proxy-server-at-home/For now I'm skipping step1 because the link provided to a free perl distribution(editor?) now costs money. I hope I can deal with this better later.

Well that seems to be for someone with their own real website.
Also, it assume internet explorer will let you configure it.
You see, what I'm trying to do is set up a site like
this where you just type the website into a textbox.
It almost verks...
I've learned the name of the enemy. Websense.
Right now it is filtering my site because it is "uncategorized". How would one go about categorizing their website? Is there some html code that I could add into the background that could define it as an 'educational site'. I've also edited it so that it looks like a movie projection assistance site under development.
On a positive note, I've added SSL encryption!
Edit: lol, after just a little bit of googling I found
this. Seems too good to be true, but I can't wait to test it out tomorrow.
edit: lol and this
