Don't do sprite buildings, just place normal buildings, you only use sprites when you are A: Using doodad sprites to cover up blocks, or just spice up a piece, B: Trying to get some other weird effect that requires using sprites, such as stacked units.

You could use the famous False Invincible technique. I dun remember how to do it, tho...
It's about setting the HP of a unit/building to a certain amount or something like that and it appear as invincible, but you can attack it :O

or you could just set it invincible using the trigger?? lol

Why were you using sprites initially?

Na, my point is that you can make it LOOK LIKE invincible, but you still can destroy it! >:D

If you place sprite-units in a map you will have the properties of a normal building with properties of a sprite.

It can be clicked on, walked through/over, it cannot be affected by triggers, it can be attacked but whatever you do DO NOT KILL IT.

It will crash.

Why do you need this, anyways? Why can't you just use normal buildings? Are you trying to keep it melee for some reason?

I was able to kill and use triggers on them...

EDIT: Oh, that's when you place them as disabled sprites :P

So, sprites can generally be used with triggers if they're simply disabled?

Sleeping wolves wake hungry.

More possibilities just opened up for me =P

I'm guessing this doesn't include weapon and spell sprites?

Jul 21 2008, 4:47 pm Falkoner Post #14

Most of them crash, or just don't appear, check out this list I made of all the effects.

Sleeping wolves wake hungry.

Was just wondering if the red nuke dot worked, because i want to use it as a laser sight for a map i'm making.

Jul 21 2008, 5:43 pm Falkoner Post #16

Nah, it doesn't appear when you disable it :( It's not a unit sprite anyway, so you can't really disable it.

Sleeping wolves wake hungry.

FINE.

=P

I s'pose i could mod the game to make a unit have the nuke dot graphics, but that would be hassle =P

What other effect could be used as a laser sight?

Jul 21 2008, 6:55 pm Falkoner Post #18

A red period :P

O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- below the minimap should be a thing that says "Overlay Settings" with a little + button in the corner, press the + to expand it, uncheck Use Defaults, then change "Tile Overlay" to "Height"
