I had an idea for the reform of certain purchasable items in the store. These reforms, if implemented, would apply to both mineral users and mineral-disabled users.
Effects of Implementation1. Removal from the Store, of the Signature Enabler and Title Enabler. What is to be done with things such as upgrades is not determined. Assume they will stay as is and just the enablers will be removed.
2. Enforce the following requirements for:
Avatar-Always available.
Signature-Must have been a registered user for 10 days.
-Must have made at least 10 posts.
User Title-Must have been a registered user for 100 days.
-Must have made at least 100 posts.
Debate it here, but please vote in the
Polling Booth as well.

Yeah. I couldn't find myself wanting to enable minerals if it meant disabling my poor sig and avy for a time. Especially since I actually
need my sig, now... somewhat.

I won't vote until we actually decide what to do with the other items. I REALLY want one of those name-color things. If the solution keeps those items reachable or easier to reach, I'll vote yes for sure.
None.
No, if anything increase the cost of those items.

Well.
You could increase the set amount of posts required. 100 Spams before a moderator can take action is well... you get the point.
As for devilesk's idea,
Sure. We wouldn't be paying for anything...

There are certain spambots that "Rush" things onto forums fast. Or it can also be an idiot with alot of time.

/me points at the '100 days' part.
None.
So, why do you seem to think that how many posts someone has is an indicator of how active they are in the community? If anything, use a number of days...
None.
He uses both... I like the idea, but I have one question, as selfish as this sounds, will people who have already gotten avatars and signatures and titles recieve a refund? I WANT MAH MONEY BACK!
None.
Whats wrong with having this stuff available upon registration? Its really just encouraging elitism and spamming.
None.
What's wrong with encouraging elitism? Spamming sucks, but you could give all us poor serfs something to strive for... a signerature... on SEN! My Dream...
"Don't vote! Democratics is the freedom to do as I say. heh heh. heh."
None.
Back when I was running Maplantis one of the criticisms I got from certain SENers was that I was encouraging too much elitism in the community. Now that much worse things are happening at SEN it seems like everybodies fine with it and no objections. The message I'm getting is "Elitism is really bad, but only when it happens to websites I selectively disapprove of".
None.
leetism is bad, only on maplantis though.
SEN needs leetism.
My logic is undeniable.
None.
This isn't really promoting elitism. I see it as making sure there are no abuses of the system and making sure only "real" members (as in people who are actually here and not ones who just come post once and leave) get stuff. That said, I don't think you need such high requirements.
None.
When you weigh the two against each other, what harm could people do with having a signature, avatar, or user title? Maybe put something annoying or offensive, but they have posting abilities upon registration, and those things will require them to post anyway for people to see it. With posts you can put anything you want as well. So we're not putting in these restrictions because they're destructive.
The only reason I see is that it's to entice people to stay more and post more, with disregard to the users content, contributions, or intelligence.
None.
Yeah, I see no reason to put a limit on the avatar and signatures and such, I just think you might want to clear out inactive members who have never posted ever or even come online in a long time. I think the issue he has is memory, but I don't think it will be a problem, it never was before...
I just want mah money back...
