Voyager titled the thread. Don't be upset with him, he means well.

It's my time to go. Joyous day. Basically, because I have no reason to stay anymore. I was only sticking around for community involvement and now I'm out. Those of you who talk to me on MSN might have noticed that have been talking about leaving for awhile... Well now I can.

I am not quitting StarCraft, or modding StarCraft, although now Prometheus never may be done. (lol surprise) -- I still play on a nearly daily basis with my friends, and I will be right in on StarCraft 2. I'm just sick of the community. I've been on SeN for over 4 years now... And the community I remember, the one I joined for, is all but dead. Some of the people are the same, I still love 'em, but it's not the same. Will I ever return? Maybe. If people take a swing around in the right direction. I'll still be on other fora that some of you might see me (totse, scorehero, xkcd, c&h, et al) and MSN, just no StarCraft.

Feel free to draw your own conclusions as to the deeper why. I'll monitor this thread until whatever time, I'm now relocating my homepage and deleting SeN from my bookbar tabs.

Bye, guys.

I'd say as... powerful a member as Syphon deserves his good-bye thread. Beer_Keg got one.
As said before, I'll be waiting.

Let us hope that Shelley's "Mutability" holds true when we next see Syphon.

meme

You could, of course, just ask me to open the old one. Instead of calling people douchebags. You know, that thing I was trying to get you to stop doing before I removed your GM status.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

NudeRaider -- Symmetry
Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

Symmetry -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
