Hey guys, just wondering if there's anyone else on SEN who shares interest with one of the most extreme genres of music, satanic Norwegian black metal. I don't know if anyone has even heard about this genre before since it is very underground. Basically, if you know anything about heavy metal, its pretty much death metal but more atmospheric and with satanic imagery. It can have a wide variety of sounds from brutal machine gun guitar to songs that don't even use guitar. The genre started up in the early eighties by a British band called Venom but the Norwegian bands shorty claimed the genre as their own. Here are a couple of solid videos if anyone is interested. It is a very hard genre to listen to. Its kinda like opera in the sense that your ear has to be trained to know what to listen for, otherwise yeah I guess it is mostly noise. And about the poor production quality, thats pretty much a part of the genre.

well it's quite obvious that if you think the devil is some kind of saviour, even though the devil is non existant and you think that you can purge evil through death or living by the deadly sins is risk taking or whatever it is that compells you to listen to satanic music, then it clearly shows you're a social misfit and should not be tolerated.

I don't like black metal but, I love death metal,heavy metal,and hard rock. Hard rock for me is what others call nu metal(I see no metal in it <.<)

The lyrics usually go with Norwegian culture. They often talk about nature, pagan rituals, satanic rituals and other things. Also black metal tends to not have very good recording quality, it started off just because they were dirt poor but now it has become associated with the genre. Well I cant defend certain sub genres of metal (Swedish viking themed death metal) Death metal and black metal are 2 very different genres. death metal is all about machine gun guitars, blast beats, guttural vocals and lyrics about rape, murder, violence, war, decapitation, ect... Black metal is more atmospheric. It creates more of an image. When I listen to black metal I picture things like forest and caves, usually things involving nature. The lyrics usually go with Norwegian culture. They often talk about nature, pagan rituals, satanic rituals and other things. Also black metal tends to not have very good recording quality, it started off just because they were dirt poor but now it has become associated with the genre.
