The Crucio is the Dominion update of the immensely popular but aging Arclite siege tank. The Arclite was renowned throughout the Confederacy for its devastating firepower and stalwart emplacement/advance tactics. Originally designed to serve as a "final defense" security cannon, the siege tank adopted a two-stage configuration in its final form: a mobile assault mode and a deployed siege mode that brought its massive shock cannon to bear.

Also notice how there are no longer airvents. And in animation, instead of hiding the Tank mode's weapon, it transforms into Siege. And the armor becomes the four cornered legs in Siege mode. The side stand still returns. Also, this Siege Tank has been updated, it no longer has those lips during siege mode like in the Protoss announcement trailer.

And for the record, I did not use "Plating" neither "High Platform" terrain for comparison. It doesn't matter how tall the elevation in SC2 is, it will still be the default color, and I don't think Plating would fit since it has nails.

I asked my brother "What is it like coming out from the same vagina as me?" and had an awesome response.

I kind of liked it when it hid its non-siege cannon and deployed the siege cannon. Everything else looks great, though. However, it seems it was weakened - it had a bit o' trouble killing the marines.

It wasn't weakened. The damage actually heightened. I saw it kill a marine in one hit... wtf? It's supposed to be 2 hits!

Oh. You're right.

I still get the feeling that the splash is weaker then it was before, though. I wanna see this thing against zerglings.

Yes, 2 shots? It's supposed to be that way. Besides, you know how slow they are on with firing rates even on SC. Medic = 60 HP,
If Siege tank does full one damage to kill a marine, it would probably have 80 dmg. 60 hp, 1 hit for 40 damage. 2nd hit for a killer damage? d000hh

Notice the fact that in the toss demo vid they said that the new siege tank will be better vs infantry then vs large things, the zealots got smashed while the immortals pawned the tanks off. I'd say that instead of doing half to infantry it's a new system entirely.

You should see it if it happens to a Firebat, that guy comes straight out of the Factory.

I think the size comparison is off because of the 256xw/e pixelation SC, which shrinks in comparison to the higher pixelation Crucio.

The tank sure did go through a big change. The transformation is sexy and the medic sure did get screwed in that gameplay video.

Click the pictures, you're going to see the actual size. Like I mentioned already, the new screenshots from StarCraft II are zoomed in.

Well, it may be a bit stronger against the marines, but then again, it seems like it's significantly pricier.

Strange because of the Dreadnought (I forget the real name, it's basically a Dreadnought anyway). You'd think they'd get a lighter tank instead.

You mean "thor"?
Kinda hard to forget. Being 9 storeys high and the constant subject of flaming in the SCII forums.
I think that a toughness upgrade ont he siege tank is exactly what is needed, they never felt like tanks before. 150 hp is nothing. Not to mention the fact that they start with 1 armor. I think 1v1 a goliath could beat a siege tank [It might be close, someone test it :P ]

The new cannon is sweet, makes more sense to use the same barrel, rather than all the fancy sliding back and forth, you can just tilt it up and turn it...\

I don't like the treads spreading out however... I mean, imagine how much force you'd need to do that. Yeah yeah, it's a game, but I truly think that grime n steel is how SCII should be depicted. Not sunshine and daisies. Come on, Protoss look like a Gay Pride parade than a force to be reckoned with.

"What's his Troll level?"
"OVER 9000!!!"
"That's IMPOSSIBLE!!!"
