Problem: After hours upon hours of fiddling with Firegraft, I finally got my new buttons to work, there is only one problem (and a big one at that), they don't actually function :( . They seem to, in a way, disable the action in question, because if I were to say, give the queen the ability to cast mind control, not only is the Queen's button non-functional, but it is non-functional for the Dark Archon too :farty: . Help would be greatly appreciated. As far as specifics go, there are two FireGraft-based changes I am working on, the first is to allow the Infested Command Center to Train SCV's, and also, to allow the queen to cast Mind Control.

StarCraft Version: 1.16.1.1
Firegraft Version: 0.9.3.0 NOTE: I am using the "unoficial" version patched to be compatable with 1.16.1

In case you need more info...

The program does NOT crash, so I don't think it's a compatability issue
The buttons are highlighted/greyed out appropriatly (at least when I don't screw up :bleh: ) The issue is that when clicked, nothing happens.
The changes I made were in button sets, where I added the build SVC button copied strait from the Command Center button set (later, for the sake of trying everything, I changed it to replace the "lift off" function, which didn't help) Yes I DID change the DAT requirements to include "or, current unit is, Infested command Center", where I DID test between having and ommitting the "is not lifted off" part. In addition, I tried various exe edits, which seem to do absolutly nothing (I hear they are the buggier part of the program, so I didn't expect much from them anyway) In addition, I tried looking at the Orders Dat Requirements, however, the part for "train" had the "Used" box unchecked, and nothing in the item (text) area.

On a related note, the mod I am making is mostly DatEdit stuff, which I incorporate into the mod by adding into the save file when saving the FG patch. I strongly doubt this effects anything, but what do I know :P

From what you're describing, my brain instantly went to 'check DAT Requirements for Unit and Use Tech.' Since you're saying you did that already, if it's not too much trouble you should PM me the map and I'll have a look at it.

Yeah, PM is private messaging. You click on my profile, find the link that says 'Send Message', and then you can attach the file directly or post a download link from a file uploader like sendspace or mediafire.

Is there a way for me to make it so that the infested command center gives supply to terran? such as when you mind control an SCV and build a supply depot (the supply is still yours, but its not for zerg, its for the new race)

Sort of. You can flag it as Terran and make it give Supply, but that has issues, notably that it will no longer be able to land on creep. How big a deal is it that it does this?

Its a somewhat big deal, but I can do without, however I noticed that in staredit you can check both the Zerg flag and Terran flag, would that let it land on creep or would it cause any crashes (I dont mind it if the thing gives supply to both races)

Another thing is that Ive been trying to add an "infested ghost unit". This is a minor thing, so I don't mind if it's impossible to do, but anyway, i have been changing "infested kerrigan" through the use of tbl pad (along with minor DatEdit modifications) to be an "infested ghost", which is trained from the infested command center. When i click on the infested command center the button shows up, but as soon as i hover over it (not even click) it crashes. Is there anything I can do to fix this or should I just stick with non-hero units?

I don't know about mixing flags and Creep. However, my hunch would be that it could land on the Creep. It wouldn't crash, but would give Supply to both races. Try it and see what happens.

There's nothing wrong with training hero units. You probably just messed your string somehow if it crashes on mouseover, in either stat_txt.tbl or in Firegraft. I'm pretty sure having the action string ID be 0 (None) causes a crash.

Erm, my bad. It's actually labeled "Enabled". Select the button in question and look for "Enabled"; if the number to the right of it is 0, change it to 612. (Might want to change the disabled string to 611, just in case. I chose these two numbers because they happen to be unused strings, so you can edit them later.)

For some reason my changes on tbl pad dont seem to work. they show up while using firgraft, but during the actual game the text changes are either glitchy or unchanged. Does anyone know whats causing this?

Either you didn't import the .tbl file or you don't have the proper numeration for your strings.

<0> = Label Only, no Requirements
<1> = Minerals, Gas, Supply (Unit/Building)
<2> = Upgrade Research
<3> = Spell
<4> = Technology Research
<5> = Minerals, Gas (Guardian/Devourer Aspect)

My string is "<1>Create Infested Ghost<0>", the setup matches other build strings, however, ingame it shows up as "rain Infested Ghost". Also, it seems that firegraft does not update strings when I change them. It does when making the mod (as in it says the string correctly in the slots) however, in game, the "rain Infested Ghost" shows up even if i change it to say, just "Infested Ghost".

Delete it in the mpq, add it again, save as the firegraft with the mpq.
