Astrogears Mk I

Here she is! After over 5 months of toil, I've finally got the first release version ready. Finally, the wait is over!

Download it Here
12/14/07: v3 is now out!
12/8/07: v2 is now out!

Introduction
Welcome to Astrogears. This is a novel new concept map for Starcraft featuring one of the most dynamic multiplayer tactical and strategy experiences ever seen! This map pushes practically all of the game's physical limits and introduces many powerful new concepts going well beyond the game itself. You've never seen anything like this before!

Astrogears is a team versus game that will pit up to 6 players against one another across two teams. Players must push their strategizing, lateral thinking, and tactical abilities to the limit in order to win. It plays out in real time utilizing numerous layers of gameplay elements. Combat is driven by many dynamic systems based upon automatically-generated NPC forces and the players' Gears: Powerful tools of war featuring a rich medley of abilities and customizability options.

How To Play
You'll want to start by learning how to play the map, right? Read up on that here. Trust me: You're gonna need it!

Making Of
If you're interested in knowing how I made the map (or want a shot at editing it, even), be sure to check out this Making Of section as well.

News and Updates
Finally, be sure to check in for news every now and then to keep up with any new updates and versions that get released.

I FULLY ENDORSE THIS PRODUCT AND/OR SERVICE.
And the stance that we take isn't much to bear
Yeah, we leave things to change on their time
And our failure to care for it leaves us blind
'til we're tired and we're crazed in the mind

I've been, I've been silent

I'm going to try this tomorrow with others. Is it recommended you have a full house?

I actually find 2v2 more fun than a full house game.

Great job, Tux, this is the best map yet in my opinion.

You guys are probably gonna end up better at the map than I will be soon. :(

Anyway, I'm trying to gather some replays. If you guys have any more epic matches, be sure to send them my way!

Ok, the replay thing I had in mind isn't going to work out. I was going to try to gather a few of them to show to someone "special", but it looks like the cake is a lie this time. I also edited the above news post.

Edit: Whoops. Triple post. Where'd that post auto-merge thing SEN used to have go to?

Is this an original concept or based off another game?

I've developed some concept maps ago with similar ideas, but they weren't released widescale and I know Tux wouldn't have seen them.

You could say that Astrogears is "based off" his other map, Mechnogears.

A Jaw Dropping Concept! Nice work, excellent trigger structure. I've played all your old maps and I loved them!

Well, that was Invision Power Board. This is their own CMS, I think thy did an awesome job on it so far. And yeah, you get used to those things, haha!
