Has anyone tried my non-Latin character method? I'm still interested in seeing if it would work. I can't try it myself, as I have only the Beta and a fear of Blizzitch's banhammer.

Untrue, the system works a lot better than you think... if you filter by new games, it takes only 20 plays per hour to get on the first page, and 5 plays to get on the second. If you play the game with your friends only a COUPLE of times you have a high chance of skyrocketing to the top, if it's a good map, that is.
Proof of concept: impossible probe, a game released by payne is on the first page of "Show New Games Only".

I wish you could just host maps instead of having to rely on the popular maps system.

You can't host maps, right?

You can either "Create game" or "join game".

Create game gives you 5 options (blizzard/custom/my published/recently played/popular), "popular" includes every map, even maps you don't have, and you can just do a search for a specific game, the rest are self-explanatory.

Join game gives you all the games in existence in order of games per hour, and you can pick one to join (with the top two games usually being a Featured Game! picked by blizzrawrd), if you are unable to join someone else's lobby, it will prompt you to host it for yourself. One thing that is important to note is that the Join Game list has a "New Games Only" which filters out games that are older. This function's usefulness is explained at my previous post.

Sc1 mappers now stand a chance against wc3 mappers; if there's 1 thing we know how to do, it's finding work-around's to built-in limitations.
