Does anyone here have an idea how to rip audio from psx games?
I tried a google search, but the best I could find is "load disc, explore contents" (a bunch of binary files and stuff I have no idea as to the identity of), or "use [some program]", which either I can't get working or in one case gave me a few half-second chunks of sound that I recognize.
Of note, in particular, I'm looking for the voiceover sound clips.
None.

I considered that, but I'm considering it a last resort for a few reasons.
None.
If you are trying to rip music, sound effects, or movies from PS1 games I hope I can help you here.
First, music get PsxMC here:
http://homepage2.nifty.com/~mkb/ It's best for getting music, sence you can change the freq. to 44.1k for the .wav files. (there is a password out there somewhere for the non-free version...but it was lost with my last how to thread). You can also try PSMplay (here:
http://segu.psxemu.com/ ) , there are 2 versions of this program, both the old and new versions have +/-. Last is PSound here:
http://snailrush.online.fr/ It scans through all sounds on the disc, meaning you can listen to sound efx's and sample's from PSF! You can't make PSF's with it, just listen to each individual instrument. You can also get these programs here:
http://www.zophar.net/utilities/psxutil.htmlIf you get PSMplay working you should be able to rip the .str movies easily, thus I provide the STR decoder for TMPGEnc so you can convert them stright to an mpg movie like they were origenaly encoded, if you don't want to make .avi files. Put it in your TMPGEnc directory.
You could also just use EAC for getting redbook audio stright from the game (Like JetMoto or Wipeout games) . Also use Lame for converting your new wav's to mp3 =) (see moguta's faq).
Did you do all of this?
"Parliamentary inquiry, Mr. Chairman - do we have to call the Gentleman a gentleman if he's not one?"
PsxMC: Didn't feel like looking looking around a site full of Japanese.
PSMplay: Opens up a media player doohickey, none of the stuff inside the disk are recognized
PSound: Gave me a list of 31 or 32 audio files, none longer than a half second, a few of which I could recognize the sources of (various sound effects).
None.
EAC?
http://www.zophar.net/utilities/psxutil/psxmc.html isn't in japanese. Google translate would have easily led you to "download", then to "
http://homepage2.nifty.com/~mkb/PsxMC/download/PsxMC253.zip"
