I live an incredibly boring life and I was reading an article on EscapistMagazine.com and I thought I'd basically share it with fellow SEN users.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.189904-Blizzard-Busts-320-000-in-Battle-net-Ban

Aside from sending a link I'm speechless. (or is that typeless?) I find this news nothing short of awesome. Maybe hopefully I won't click on those annoying drop maps titled 'ALLAH@USEAST > YOU.'

News that no one cares about aside...

This news is only an hour old so if this is worth anything I'd like a cookie. Oh and I'm also a bit confuse. Does playing mods also put us at the risk of being banned?

And at last I end this by saying something I've been wanting to say since I started this topic:

320,000 users were BANNED

Relatively ancient and inactive

I hope I wasn't one of those. I may have used something on occasion.

One thing you have to say about Blizzard: When they do things, they do them big.

Those sent to the Gulag on their first offense will be reintegrated into society after 30 days, while repeat offenders are gone for good.
Evil plans are evil: they are probably doing this (also) to make people tend to quit SC and move to SC 2 since they'll still be banned when the game will be out (suppostition).

Aren't threads like this lovely? So many hackers come out and admit to it; it makes it easy to improve on one's ban-on-sight list.

I'm good. I've never used any hacks - just never got around to it, I guess. :shifty:

SDE, BWAPI owner, hacker.

Modifying data won't get you banned, but modifying code will. Most mods only modify data.

Where is the source of this article? For all I know it could just be some guy pulling a story from his ass. But yeah, Blizzard has banned thousands of accounts/keys before.

In all fairness, B.net seems even MORE empty, at least to me.

Quote from name: from Battle.net
Diablo II and Warcraft III Battle.net Bans

Nebu on April 20th, 2010
We've recently banned over 320,000 Warcraft III and Diablo II accounts that were found to be violating the Battle.net Terms of Use. If this is a first offense, the CD key associated with the banned account will be suspended for 30 days, while repeat offenders will see their keys banned permanently. All account ban decisions are final.

We would like all players to remember that abuse of unintended mechanics and/or use of third party programs is a violation of the agreement made when signing on to Battle.net, and can subject your account to disciplinary action up to and including a permanent ban of its access to the service. These types of activities can severely impact the stability of our servers, and we’ll continue to aggressively monitor Battle.net in order to protect the service and its players from the harmful effects of cheating.

Many account closures come as the direct result of tips emailed to our hacks team by legitimate Battle.net users. If you come across a hack, find a site responsible for distributing hacks, or have a replay of a newly available hack, please report this to our hacks team at hacks@blizzard.com or through our Hacks Report Form.

As always, thank you for your continued support, and we'll see you on Battle.net! .

Looks like just Diablo and Wc to me.

SDE, BWAPI owner, hacker.

You can't do anything with Battle.net unless you are logged in. So you cannot override the games of other people otherwise.

I also hear that he's got hundreds if not thousands of CD keys and potential IPs.

There is a SC B.Net CD Key generator.

I don't know how it happened, but I logged into B.Net the other day and it said I was banned from all channels and from talking. ( I don't hack or use fake CD Keys ). It was very lame...

About the key generator...90% of those keys usually are used or muted. And it looks like your account has been muted Newb. There must have been something you've done to get your key muted.

I re-installed SC the other day, and I created a new B.net account, then the second I create it and enter the channels, it just says, muted, banned from channels ( in a long description ). I can still play games though...

Quote from DavidJCobb
Regarding an earlier post, even if they managed to ban Allah, he might still be able to do that... I hear he can change people's game names into crash-games from outside Battle.net. I also hear that he's got hundreds if not thousands of CD keys and potential IPs. Dumprep also tells me that Allah's a dick.

Granted, it's all just rumors (except for his confirmed dicketry), but don't expect to see those crash-games go away. Like, ever.

What he does on Bnet outside of Op SEN is none of SEN's concern.
