Here is a direct download for the campaign, including 10 missions and 2 Cinematic levels.

Chapter 2: Confederate Counterblow

Yep, me again with more maps. This is the second campaign for the 30 level map set that I'm working on. The thread about the first campaign can be found here. This campaign is a direct followup from the Zerg missions, so I'd recommend playing through those first. You will be spending the entirety of the campaign playing as Terran (my favourite race!). The difficulty of the Terran campaign is a definite step up from the Zerg levels, so if you thought those were hard, this will provide you with a new level of challenge.

As a whole, thus far, I'm much more satisfied with how this campaign is shaping up than how the Zerg levels were. First of all, all of these maps were designed recently, unlike the Zerg campaign, which has 5 maps from 3-4 years ago when I started this campaign. I'm also more happy with the level of detail and story that these maps present, which is a product of being in better practice. Additionally, these missions stray a little further from the standard RTS formula of "build a base, defeat the computer" than the Zerg levels did, but it definitely feels like a classic SC campaign in spite of that.

Specifications

-Players
• 1 (obviously). These are strictly single player maps.

-Map tileset
• Because this is a 10 mission campaign, the tilesets change every so often. In this one, you'll be seeing Badlands, Space Platform, Twilight, Desert, and Installation.

-Map size
• Map size on non-Cinematic levels varies from 128x128 to 256x128.

Storyline

Note: this story will make almost no sense to you if you haven't played through the Zerg campaign first. If you're in the dark about the story, either humor me or go give the Zerg maps a spin.

The campaign starts you off as General Duke, commander of the now-shattered Terran clone army known as Sigma Squadron. In an attempt to defeat Duran and prevent him from fulfilling his mission to realize his dark master's sinister dream of a perfect hybrid race, Duke has lost nearly everything. His most powerful weapon, the Battle Moon, was destroyed. One of his main strongholds, the resource-rich planet of Aldevie, has fallen to the hybrids. Now, in the secret Confederate facilities far beneath the surface of Tarsonis, Duke plans to rebuild his fallen empire.

Unfortunately for Duke, the majority of his forces on Tarsonis' surface have fallen to attacks by the Zerg Swarm. Now Duke and his new right-hand man, Jack Dark, must retake their above ground bases in order to begin rebuilding Sigma Squadron...

It doesn't stop there, however, as this campaign has multiple storylines. Not too soon after the Duke story starts to take shape, the focus of the campaign shifts over to Jim Raynor and Artanis as they try to find Zeratul amongst the stars. Their search leads them to a dark planet known only as Vogal VII, but on this planet they find a lot more than they bargained for...

Features

-Player Interface
• The game will always use a standard interface. While sticking very closely to the vanilla style, there are a few very obvious signs of using something other than the stock Staredit client, such as a few illegally placed structures and different player colours. With that said, don't expect to find any crazy square terrain, out-of-whack doodads, or stacking.

Details

-Characters
• General Duke, commander of Sigma Squadron. Thanks to Confederate paranoia, even death cannot stop Duke's ambitions for power. Once he gathers his forces on Tarsonis, his sights shift to Emperor Mengsk and the Terran Dominion.
• Jack Dark, Duke's new second-in-command. He's a Wraith pilot and serves as Duke's lackey.
• Jim Raynor and Artanis, both of them are searching the stars for their lose comrade, Zeratul.
• Kerrigan, she has sensed something amiss on the planet of Vogal VII. Her priorities aren't quite what you'd expect them to be.
• Duran, having escaped into the shadows of space after destroying Duke's Battle Moon, resurfaces in this chapter. Now taking the role of the aggressor, Duran's power has grown significantly since he was last seen. It appears his experiments are finally paying off...
• Arcturus Mengsk, doesn't make an appearance until later in the chapter. Duke's forced defection to the Terran Dominion, and later on his death at the hands of Kerrigan while fighting for Mengsk, has made Mengsk the primary target of the clone Duke's revenge schemes. The Emperor will soon face an insurrection of devastation proportions.
• Isaac, a Dominion scientist encountered later in the chapter.
• The Dark Lord, mysterious as ever, continues to work behind the scenes as the hour of his rebirth draws near...

Okay, the entire campaign is ready for testing. As always, I'm eager for constructive feedback. Even the odd "nice maps" is welcome, as any little boost will help motivate me to finally finish this behemoth of a project.

I will still be checking the Zerg campaign thread for potential feedback on those missions.

Thanks for reading the topic and reviewing my campaigns. I welcome and appreciate any and all feedback, no matter how big or small or on what aspect of the campaign, be it on story, spelling, terrain, doodads, challenge, etc. The more feedback I get, the more I'm encouraged to finish this project, which is quite a monumental task, especially for someone that doesn't have dozens/hundreds of good maps under his belt.

Feel free to hit me up on MSN as well (dartheldraganus@hotmail.com). I'm always happy to chat about the campaign on a more personal level.

Shameless self bamp.

I'm doing this because I have finished off the campaign. Everything should ideally be working correctly, but heaven knows there are bugs, typos, etc that need to be corrected.

All 10 levels and both cinematic missions are ready for testing now.
