This is essentially a classic probe/ultralisk Cat & Mouse map with a lot more room for flexible play from both players. I only had a few hours to make it so it's by no means perfect, but all the triggers work as intended and it plays to completion.

There is a unit purchase system in place for both cats and mice, cats have drones to farmine for them but they cost a lot of minerals, and any money spent on drones is not spent on other units which can be used to kill mice.

NOTE: Cats cannot walk through dark grass (although infested terrans can). Hiding in the large patches of grass for extended periods of time causes the cat to gain minerals.

The tech tree is virtually unrestricted for both terran and protoss, giving room for much development.

FEATURES:
-Custom cat's paw doodad
-Trading minerals between mice
-Cat may mine minerals with drones and may purchase more drones
-Usage of terrain to create mouse holes rather than civilians
-A C&M that actually requires skill aside from A-move
-Both sides grow significantly in strength as time passes; no one side ever reaches a "cap" on strength and lose
-Balanced upgrade times
-Having 2 cats is not phenomenally more imbalanced than only 1 cat, unlike typical C&M
-Using terrain height levels as a significant advantage
-HUGE assortment of units for both sides

STARTING CONDITIONS:
-Cat: 9999 hp, 14 armor, 8+1 attack
-Mouse: 4 hp, 4 shields, 0 armor, 120 attack

Cats start with 200 minerals and 4 drones to mine. Additionally, 2 minerals is rewarded for every 150 kill score, and a mouse kill gives 250 minerals.
Mice start with 50 minerals.

All upgrades go to level 255.

STORE PURCHASES:

TYPICAL "CHEESE" STRATEGIES NOOBS WHINE ABOUT: How to counter them

-=CATS=-

Infested Terran Rush: Since an infested terran can kill probes in 1 hit and each one costs less than the probe gives upon death, it seems as though cat can start off by purchasing an infested terran and repeatedly kill mice with only infesteds.
-Counter: Probes outrange infested terrans and kill them in 1 hit. With proper hold position micro they can kill infested terrans without problem (and yes, I have seen it done extremely well, much to my dismay)

Devourer Rush: By abusing the powerful upgrades of the Devourer the cat can potentially take complete air control by massing devourers (which also give scouting)
-Counter: Ground units. Duh.

Observer follow: By following a mouse with an observer the cat can never lose track of the mouse, making it impossible to hide.
-Counter: You have 5 mineral PHOTON CANNONS. USE THEM.

Sunken contain: By making a sunken colony probes cannot be saved conventionally.
-Counter: Buy a single hydralisk. Or tank. Or anything that has nonzero attack. Sunkens are weak against everything except probes.

Medic usage: OMIGOD HE HAZ MEDIC WE CANT KILL CAT GG NO RE
-Counter: Heal is very slow when you consider the massive HP of the cat and the amount of damage you can inflict. It takes a very long time to heal a cat and it only makes a difference if you leave cat alone. This C&M map is meant to encourage mouse aggression. You can't win by turtling into lots of units; you have to attack the cat.

Parasite usage: OMFG I R PARASITED U EFFING FAG *ragequit*
-Counter: Does it matter that much? If you put your mouse in a transport he has no vision, and if you wall in properly it wouldn't make a difference whether he can see you or not.

Infested Kerrigan usage: SCREW YOU CAT WE CANT WIN AGAINST SMALL UNIT AND PSI STORM
-Counter: It's called DON'T LEAVE YOUR MOUSE IN THE OPEN. You can put it in a dropship or shuttle and storm dodge. Kerrigans are also easily killed by many ground units.

Spider mines: WTF WE CANT BUY UNITS DAMN YOU
-Counter: You can make your own units... Alternatively, a-move a single marine into the mine field to kill all of them.

Overlord drop: WTF U WENT THROUGH MAH WALL HAX
-Counter: If cat has 1800 minerals to spare then something is seriously wrong here. Plus, the overlord has 150 hp. A bunch of any unit can massacre it with no problem.

Scourge rush: An attack with defensive-matrix'd scourge against the mouse-carrying transport, destroying it immediately.
-Counter: Upgrade shuttle speed and you can outrun scourge. Also, antiair units; d-matrix only lasts 250 damage.

-=MICE=-

Armored zealot-goon contain: By using the high damage potential of zealots and dragoons in conjunction with upgraded shields, the cat is rendered helpless as nigh-invincible zealots surround and kill it.
-Counter: Upgrades are expensive for mice, and you should keep up your own carapace/weapon upgrades. Additionally, psi storm will murder massed zealots and dragoons in literally 1 second for only 50 energy.

Shields Galore: By maintaining a strong economy it is possible to pass the cat in shields upgrades and be dealt 0.5 damage and safe from cat offensives.
-Counter: Buy...more drones. I really have nothing to say here.

Wall of Jericho: By upgrading as much as possible and blocking with any of the following, the cat cannot get in.
1. Civilian + DT covered by CC
2. DT behind building wall covered by CC
3. Fleet beacon with massive shields
4. Pure civilian wall with highly upgraded infantry armor
5. Continuously repaired bunkers/factories
6. Broodling contain: Broodlings have 20 armor and 40 hp as well as regeneration, making it impossible for cat to break it.

-Counter: D-matrix'd Infested terrans, EMP, irradiate, anything... you name it. Many spells are accessible which will allow wall-breaking.

Massed carriers: Carriers murder cat air units if critical mass is reached.
-Counter: Devourers have ungodly antiair upgrades. Upgrade them and carriers will explode like fireworks.

Massed battlecruisers: With their extremely powerful ground and air attacks they can dominate the scene almost without mishap. The 75 energy Yamato Gun will also utterly destroy cats.
-Counter: Just like starcraft: Psi storm and devourer/scourge. But if mice can get battlecruisers... again, it's your fault.

Maelstrom/Stasis Nuke: By freezing the cat and timing the nuke you can destroy the cat with two nuclear missiles.
-Counter: ...allowing mice to get nukes or constant maelstrom is disgraceful.

Arbiter abuse: By abusing stasis and recall the cat can never kill the mouse.
-Counter: EMP, scourge, devourer, etc. Arbiters die pretty easily.

COMMON MISTAKES:
-Massing photon cannons: Photon cannons only do 30 damage. Cat upgrades catch up fast, and they only really deter the cat early game. Late-game cats with huge carapace will not care about 0.5 damage.

-Turtling and getting 0 offensive units: Okay mice, if you don't kill the cat YOU CANNOT WIN THE GAME. Buy some offensive units.

-Putting splash damage units near the wall: Oh god.

-Relying on the shuttle to save you from the cat: Shuttles are not bulletproof, and there are many ways to kill them. It only makes you safe from the ultralisk but

-Not purchasing the comsat: Intel is super important in C&M. Not buying it mid-game is just asking to be killed.

-Camping inside the dark green grass patches: Every second you camp the cat gains minerals, and every second you camp you are not mining.

-Not upgrading shields: ...

-Building 50 nexus to slow down the cat: Don't feed the trollscats.

-Buying 9000 SCVs: You can't win just on econ...

-Not using half of your tech tree: You can't consistently win the game on only one tech tree. It's important to use most of the units that the game can give you.

-Going AFK after walling in with 1 fleet beacon: There is no perfect wall against the cat. We can always get in.

-Delaying tactics by constantly running away and keeping the cat in 1 position: Cat can mine, so delaying does not hurt the cat too much. It may help if your teammates are on 6 geysers full of SCVs and pumping BCs/wraiths/goons, but if everyone does it... the cat will win in the end.

That's absolutely right... in my map I always own noobs and they just don't assume they got pwn'd by their fault.

Thread hijacking as traditionally defined is posting in another thread with the intent of advertising your own thread; this has the effect of funneling viewers to the other thread and removing them from the hijacked one. In cases when the advertised thread is more popular than the hijacked thread, this effectively buries the hijacked thread as it removes any incentive for people to reply to it.

(It's like testbug going "hey take a look at my super special awesome map instead" XD)

But really, it's no big deal, I was joking.
