O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: FaRTy1billion well normally i'd look up existing documentation and try to figure it out before asking for help, so I was loathe to use your time unneccesarily or refuse your help if I needed it later :P
I like playing with the files and data, so I have fun gathering the specs. xD
[2014-12-21. : 4:34 am]
Moose -- ╚(•⌂•)╝
[2014-12-21. : 4:34 am]
jjf28 -- it's what you didn't say that matters :moose:
[2014-12-21. : 4:33 am]
Moose -- waaaaat eth fuk
[2014-12-21. : 4:33 am]
Roy -- Nah Moose, some people use rubber spatulas to flip eggs.
[2014-12-21. : 4:32 am]
Moose -- Sacrieur
Sacrieur shouted: Nah Moose, some people solve these in Assembly for the most efficient alorithms.
??? Not sure when I said something contradicting this?
[2014-12-21. : 4:31 am]
jjf28 -- thanks, nice to have the specs :)
[2014-12-21. : 4:30 am]
jjf28 -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: shoudl I PM some specs?
well normally i'd look up existing documentation and try to figure it out before asking for help, so I was loathe to use your time unneccesarily or refuse your help if I needed it later :P
[2014-12-21. : 4:25 am]
Roy -- Tell me more about the alorithms, sensei.
[2014-12-21. : 4:22 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- that sounds like fun
[2014-12-21. : 4:21 am]
Sacrieur -- Nah Moose, some people solve these in Assembly for the most efficient alorithms.
[2014-12-21. : 4:16 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- reading, parsing, and understanding SC's data files is so much fun :wob:
[2014-12-21. : 4:07 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: shoudl I PM some specs?
I did anyway. Hopefully you don't mind painfully long and probably not all that detailed file specs. :awesome:
[2014-12-21. : 3:45 am]
Moose -- Zoan
Zoan shouted: 70 box suk it
Roy
Roy shouted: Banned for flame-baiting.
rekt
[2014-12-21. : 3:45 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- ha, suk it
[2014-12-21. : 3:42 am]
Roy -- Banned for flame-baiting.
[2014-12-21. : 3:12 am]
Zoan -- 70 box suk it
[2014-12-21. : 2:24 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- shoudl I PM some specs?
[2014-12-21. : 2:24 am]
jjf28 -- not necessarily
[2014-12-21. : 2:15 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Do you know how to read fnt files?
[2014-12-21. : 2:01 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- oops, see what I know. xD
[2014-12-21. : 2:01 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- And the mission briefing text is size 14. See what
[2014-12-21. : 2:00 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Ooh, I think the game name in the lobby is 14 font
[2014-12-21. : 1:58 am]
Moose -- Esponeo
Esponeo shouted: I have a doubt you've pulled out Fortran at any point.
... Also what was your point in saying this anyway
[2014-12-21. : 1:57 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I think SCMD's string viewer uses the 12 font, but the 10 one is the one that's used in-game
[2014-12-21. : 1:56 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- and 16x isn't used for any in-game text
[2014-12-21. : 1:52 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I don't think 14 is ever actually used, but it is available when selecting font size in the .bin dialog options
[2014-12-21. : 1:51 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- the only ones that matter are font10, font14, font16, and font16x and the combined size is <60KB
[2014-12-21. : 1:46 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- they're not
[2014-12-21. : 1:46 am]
jjf28 -- so long as they're not huge files it shouldn't be an issue
[2014-12-21. : 1:43 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- unless getting the encrypted ones was what you meant by help :P
[2014-12-21. : 1:43 am]
jjf28 -- mm
[2014-12-21. : 1:42 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- but for now I recommend just finding the unencrypted ones from install.exe/broodwar.mpq
[2014-12-21. : 1:42 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I didn't think of that
[2014-12-21. : 1:41 am]
jjf28 -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: I have code that can decrypt the files, but I promised DoA I'd never share it. :O
you don't have to share the code, make a lib with getfont functions :P
[2014-12-21. : 1:40 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- also they're probably in broodwar.mpq
[2014-12-21. : 1:40 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: FaRTy1billion yea; FaRTy1billion I assume so since he has CD key extraction code in SCMDraft
wait, he does? xD If I had to guess, that's probably why.
[2014-12-21. : 1:40 am]
jjf28 -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: jjf28 do you have broodwar.mpq?
yea; FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: I think scmdraft decodes the fnt files, but I'm not sure.
I assume so since he has CD key extraction code in SCMDraft
[2014-12-21. : 1:39 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I have code that can decrypt the files, but I promised DoA I'd never share it. :O
[2014-12-21. : 1:38 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I think scmdraft decodes the fnt files, but I'm not sure.
[2014-12-21. : 1:38 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: FaRTy1billion I would have to go find my cds
do you have broodwar.mpq?
[2014-12-21. : 1:38 am]
jjf28 -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: jjf28 do you still need help with fonts?
I would have to go find my cds
[2014-12-21. : 1:37 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- problem 102 is relevant to hit detection :awesome:
[2014-12-21. : 1:36 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: woops, :fear: *
do you still need help with fonts?
[2014-12-21. : 1:32 am]
Moose -- Congratulations, the answer you gave to problem 57 is correct. You are the 22576th person to have solved this problem.
[2014-12-21. : 1:30 am]
Moose -- So far I've used PHP, C++, D, spreadsheets, awk, and sed. Fortran would be great for some these, especially for efficiency. Unfortunately, I do not know it.
[2014-12-21. : 1:29 am]
Moose -- Or, I should say just say compatible* code.
[2014-12-21. : 1:29 am]
Esponeo -- I have a doubt you've pulled out Fortran at any point.
[2014-12-21. : 1:28 am]
Moose -- My goal is to easily solve as many problems as I can.
[2014-12-21. : 1:28 am]
Moose -- If your goal is web-compatible code, sure.
[2014-12-21. : 1:24 am]
Esponeo -- Also the correct choice of language is Javascript. Nothing is quite so ubiquitous as the web browser, and they all compile javascript.
[2014-12-21. : 1:20 am]
jjf28 -- woops, :fear: *
[2014-12-21. : 1:18 am]
jjf28 -- Esponeo
Esponeo shouted: Some of the code these people have posted for their solutions is horrifying.
:scared:
[2014-12-21. : 1:17 am]
Moose -- What has been seen cannot be unseen
[2014-12-21. : 1:15 am]
Esponeo -- Some of the code these people have posted for their solutions is horrifying.
[2014-12-21. : 12:46 am]
Moose -- ProjrekD Euler, RekD in D once again. ez as π
[2014-12-21. : 12:45 am]
Moose -- Congratulations, the answer you gave to problem 65 is correct. You are the 16795th person to have solved this problem. You have earned 1 new award: As Easy As Pi: Solve problems 3, 14, 15, 92, 65, 35, 89, 79, 32, 38, and 46
[2014-12-21. : 12:44 am]
Moose -- Lol, I just wrote the scrubbiest code ever and I'm like durrrrr why is my answer wrong. Because your lines are in the wrong order, dumbass.
[2014-12-21. : 12:42 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I clicked the wrong quote again, meant to quote Roy
Roy shouted: FaRTy1billion Hey, I bet a lot of people want to steal a font where the L, I, and | are identical. Gotta lock that shit down.
[2014-12-21. : 12:42 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: Can confirm, those fonts went for $50,000 and up on the black market when SC was released
They are unencrypted elsewhere, but if you add modded fnt files then SC doesn't care that they are unencrypted and the CD key has it's own file to be encrypted in
[2014-12-21. : 12:33 am]
Moose -- Can confirm, those fonts went for $50,000 and up on the black market when SC was released
[2014-12-21. : 12:31 am]
Roy -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: I don't know how to decrypt them from stardat, since they are encrypted with the CDkey for no reason at all
Hey, I bet a lot of people want to steal a font where the L, I, and | are identical. Gotta lock that shit down.
[2014-12-21. : 12:13 am]
Moose -- can't handle these double Dem0ns
[2014-12-21. : 12:11 am]
Dem0n -- get rekt
[2014-12-21. : 12:11 am]
Moose -- ffffff double Dem0ns
[2014-12-20. : 11:44 pm]
Moose -- 40 years old, still good today, thank you sed!
[2014-12-20. : 11:41 pm]
Moose -- Scrubs need 30ms in Haskell, my solution for this was a 2ms one liner in sed. Kids don't even know about sed these days. WHO'S GOT THE ONE LINERS NOW HUH
[2014-12-20. : 11:36 pm]
Moose -- Projrekt Euler got rekt again. Rektdolph the rekt-nosed rektdeer.
[2014-12-20. : 11:35 pm]
Moose -- Congratulations, the answer you gave to problem 89 is correct. You are the 12490th person to have solved this problem.
[2014-12-20. : 11:25 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I don't know how to decrypt them from stardat, since they are encrypted with the CDkey for no reason at all
