[2015-1-25. : 1:13 am] Excalibur -- A sword or large hammer for bannings would be appropriate as well.[2015-1-25. : 1:13 am] Excalibur -- Devourer take the picture of my soul off the soul page and make it the :Excalibur: smiley! D:[2015-1-25. : 1:10 am] Dem0n -- My passwords are like all 5-10 of the same characters just in different order per site[2015-1-24. : 11:47 pm] Devourer -- wob wob wob, wob wob wob, wob wob wob wob wooob wob wob wob wob wob, wub wub wob wob wob - lunk[2015-1-24. : 11:41 pm] Roy -- That has everything to do with entropy. Adding a couple more characters is going to be far more beneficial than swapping out a letter with a number or special character. And using a phrase is much easier to remember than some garbage string.[2015-1-24. : 11:40 pm] Moose -- Though, theoretically as per that XKCD correct horse battery stapler, they say you should go for length[2015-1-24. : 11:40 pm] Roy -- Sites like E*Trade limit your password because it has a feature where you can call and log in with your phone.[2015-1-24. : 11:38 pm] Roy -- Not for SEN, though. I use a 24-character password that I have memorized here.[2015-1-24. : 11:38 pm] Roy -- I use a password manager, so most of my passwords are 64-character randomly generated strings.[2015-1-24. : 11:37 pm] Moose -- My password is a string of random ASCII characters minus backspace, linebreak, etc. So tough. [2015-1-24. : 11:30 pm] Moose -- And what was the form of the new keys? Only alphanumerics? How many characters?[2015-1-24. : 11:27 pm] Roy -- Yeah, you can't use both the original key and the digital key at the same time, as Bnet will recognize them to be the same and will tell you the key is in use.[2015-1-24. : 11:25 pm] Roy -- The one they're using for old keys isn't reversible, per se, it's just that the entropy level for a 10-digit number is so low that a modern-day computer can brute force the solution.[2015-1-24. : 11:23 pm] Moose -- Hopefully these days they're using an encryption that hasn't been found reversible yet.[2015-1-24. : 11:21 pm] Roy -- The digital key is still linked to the physical key, and I'm curious how. If it's derived by some sort of hashing function, it's really not much more secure (just a level of indirection). If it's generated and then stored in a lookup table, it would be more secure.[2015-1-24. : 10:43 pm] Azrael -- Yeah, battle.net gives you a new installer and gives you a super long CD key to use so that random scrubs won't steal it on bnet.[2015-1-24. : 10:24 pm] Moose -- Lol, getting some great spam.
