[2015-8-18. : 12:10 pm]
Azrael -- The first trimester should be a sufficient window of opportunity, really.
[2015-8-18. : 12:08 pm]
Azrael -- Similarly, I agree that "abortions after 21 weeks or so" are wrong and unnecessary, and should not be allowed anywhere regardless of any non-life-threatening circumstances.
[2015-8-18. : 12:06 pm]
Azrael -- Otherwise you're choosing to hurt real people in order to avoid hurting ideals. At that point the ideals become purely self-serving, and entirely self-defeating.
[2015-8-18. : 12:05 pm]
Azrael -- There's a point where idealism meets reality, and you need to have enough pragmatism to recognize reasonable compromises between the two.
[2015-8-18. : 12:02 pm]
Azrael -- On a side note, the idea of an adult woman letting herself die (aka, killing herself) so she can give birth to an orphaned child who (if they even survive) will be abused in the foster system, well, that's pretty disgusting to even consider. If you're looking for points to compromise on to make your position seem much more reasonable to non-religiously-zealous people, that'd be a good one to start with.
[2015-8-18. : 11:56 am]
Azrael -- Jack
Jack shouted: nah the primary reason people are against abortion is that regardless of any rape or other circumstance, you're killing someone which = murder
Not regardless of any other circumstance. If the mother's life is in danger (an example Farty used), then aborting the baby is self-defense. Even if it was a grown adult, she would be within her right to end its life to save herself. Every human being has the right to preserve their own life. That's like Basic Human Right #1.
[2015-8-18. : 11:35 am]
Lanthanide -- Jack
Jack shouted: and there's no reason to think that it's somehow not wrong one minute and then it is
taking that argument to it's ultimate extreme, you better be an anti-masturbation campiagner. actually only anti-male masturbation (at least those ending in ejaculation) - women are free to masturbate as much as they want since it's not linked to their ovulation. interesting thought to ponder
[2015-8-18. : 11:32 am]
Lanthanide -- Jack
Jack shouted: FaRTy1billion this suggests that there's something wrong with abortions, then. If there's nothing wrong then contraception or no contraception doesn't matter. If you want to lesson abortions that suggests very strongly that there's something wrong with them.
there's also a social stigma attached to abortions, in no small part due to antiquated opinions such as your own. again another reason why someone would want to avoid having an abortion
[2015-8-18. : 11:31 am]
Lanthanide -- Jack
Jack shouted: FaRTy1billion this suggests that there's something wrong with abortions, then. If there's nothing wrong then contraception or no contraception doesn't matter. If you want to lesson abortions that suggests very strongly that there's something wrong with them.
what's wrong with them is that they're more of a hassle and an expense for a woman to go through than simply using protection is in the first place. also don't forget they are actually medical procedures, which can have side effects
[2015-8-18. : 11:29 am]
Lanthanide -- Jack
Jack shouted: and there's no reason to think that it's somehow not wrong one minute and then it is
Of course there is. Because obviously a just fertilised ovum (ie, 1 single cell) is not comparable to a human being. in fact the body frequently spontaneously aborts many pregnancies within the first few days,, and obviously there are lots of women who have miscarriages even beyond the first trimester - so clearly human biology doesn't even hold with your "any potential birth is a living human" definition
[2015-8-18. : 11:16 am]
lil-Inferno -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: And there'd be no damn Mexicans or faggots, either!
I wonder if he has a long term plan to blame another nationality/religion/sexual orientation for America's made up problems in the future. Maybe it'll be Jews C|:^ )
[2015-8-18. : 11:15 am]
lil-Inferno -- Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: FaRTy1billion Get a better diet, exercise daily
Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: I try to do that and I still sleep liek 10 hours a day lul
That wouldn't help you sleep less. If anything you have to sleep more.
[2015-8-18. : 9:57 am]
Jack -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: I liked the thing that I was reading where basically it said like teach and make more available proper contraceptive things so that the need (or desire or whatever) for abortions is lessened
this suggests that there's something wrong with abortions, then. If there's nothing wrong then contraception or no contraception doesn't matter. If you want to lesson abortions that suggests very strongly that there's something wrong with them.
[2015-8-18. : 9:54 am]
Jack -- and there's no reason to think that it's somehow not wrong one minute and then it is
[2015-8-18. : 9:54 am]
Jack -- The thing about having a certain age is that not only does it constantly go down because babies keep surviving with medical care from younger ages out of the womb, but it says that abortion is wrong at X age
[2015-8-18. : 9:02 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- anyway, I'm too tired to care right now. Who am I to determine anything ;o
[2015-8-18. : 9:00 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- adoption might be a better solution, but I don't know about rates of like babies available for adoption vs. parents looking to adopt
[2015-8-18. : 8:59 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I think the past a certain age (21 weeks or whatever) seems more fair .. I don't really have an opinion I can back up anyway
[2015-8-18. : 8:57 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I liked the thing that I was reading where basically it said like teach and make more available proper contraceptive things so that the need (or desire or whatever) for abortions is lessened
[2015-8-18. : 8:56 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- That makes more sense than I was imagining (which, really, wasn't much)
[2015-8-18. : 8:53 am]
Jack -- and bringing in rape has absolutely nothing to do with the issue at hand, which is "is it ok to kill an unborn baby"
[2015-8-18. : 8:53 am]
Jack -- most people don't think it's ok to kill innocents so without the second argument you basically can't agree with abortion
[2015-8-18. : 8:52 am]
Jack -- either it's ok to kill people, or babies aren't people. Unfortunately for the second argument, more and more no one really thinks unborn babies are much different from people hence why you can't abort after 21 weeks or so
[2015-8-18. : 8:51 am]
Jack -- nah the primary reason people are against abortion is that regardless of any rape or other circumstance, you're killing someone which = murder
[2015-8-18. : 8:51 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I listen to loud people who I strongly disagree with very frequently, and it just pushes me to want to be louder myself ;o It's not a very healthy cycle.
[2015-8-18. : 8:50 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- ... and there is part of the problem why I don't like political debates.. lack of evidence, but still firm and loud opinions. xD
[2015-8-18. : 8:47 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- As far as I know (which very well could be entirely wrong, especially since I have zero evidence), proponents typically cite religious reasons ;o
[2015-8-18. : 8:45 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- It's probably not a good idea to get abortions willy-nilly, but the anti-abortion people I'm pretty sure want to totally ban it entirely, including for such cases as rape victims (sometimes with the exception if it would be life-threatening to the mother to not)
[2015-8-18. : 8:20 am]
Jack -- as someone who doesn't agree with his position on many/most things, I hope sanders wins
[2015-8-18. : 8:16 am]
Jack -- plenty of atheists who think abortion is wrong
[2015-8-18. : 8:15 am]
Jack -- no more than ethics and morality are religious, at least
[2015-8-18. : 8:15 am]
Jack -- abortion isn't primarily a religious issue I don't think
[2015-8-18. : 7:11 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- And I guess things like preaching in schools, abortion, and gay rights are religious nuts trying to push their religious views on everyone else
[2015-8-18. : 7:07 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- One that makes sense is taxing the wealthy, because rich people don't want to pay more taxes and poor people want them to xD
[2015-8-18. : 7:04 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- like reading through opinions of candidates and thinking like "What?! Why would anyone want that?", yet a lot of people do.
[2015-8-18. : 6:52 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Political opinions are weird. ;o They often seem so absolute and clear to each individual, yet they vary so wildly
[2015-8-18. : 6:48 am]
KrayZee -- Speaking of politics, Donald Trump will make Mexico for a permanent border wall and deport millions that could cost $100 billion to $200 billion
[2015-8-18. : 6:34 am]
KrayZee -- Somehow my Legacy of the Void topic became Serious Discussion
[2015-8-18. : 6:30 am]
KrayZee -- Al Gore should've been President... damn Florida
[2015-8-18. : 6:29 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Last time Roy linked to a website with a poll that said I should vote Jill Stein xD
[2015-8-18. : 6:29 am]
KrayZee -- Jeb Bush not allowing African Americans to vote in Florida just so Bush wins the 2000 election
[2015-8-18. : 6:28 am]
KrayZee -- Well there's Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush... a third Bush as President? Bah
[2015-8-18. : 6:28 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I don't know who all is running
[2015-8-18. : 6:27 am]
KrayZee -- He will lose completely
[2015-8-18. : 6:27 am]
KrayZee -- that's really, really sad.
[2015-8-18. : 6:26 am]
KrayZee -- If Donald Trump is literally winning the republican nominee
[2015-8-18. : 6:26 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I wonder who I should vote for next year
[2015-8-18. : 6:25 am]
KrayZee -- than just a simple landslide
[2015-8-18. : 6:25 am]
KrayZee -- except by a huge landslide
[2015-8-18. : 6:25 am]
KrayZee -- Obama will still win
[2015-8-18. : 6:25 am]
KrayZee -- I remember if the world would vote in the 2008 election
[2015-8-18. : 6:24 am]
KrayZee -- bwahaha
[2015-8-18. : 6:24 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Well it's because women can't be trusted to make decisions. You see, Eve ate the forbidden fruit thus condemning all women for eternity. :)
[2015-8-18. : 6:24 am]
KrayZee -- Or women that literally objectify themselves because they think that's how society works
[2015-8-18. : 6:23 am]
KrayZee -- A lot of people are baffled by that
[2015-8-18. : 6:23 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I can see that
[2015-8-18. : 6:23 am]
KrayZee -- Or something similar
[2015-8-18. : 6:23 am]
KrayZee -- Serioiusly... I recall all female republicans voted against fair pay for women
[2015-8-18. : 6:22 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I want the freedom to be exactly as I am, and stop anyone else from thinking different from me
[2015-8-18. : 6:22 am]
KrayZee -- And women who vote against their own rights
[2015-8-18. : 6:22 am]
KrayZee -- Especially Europeans, but republicans will immediately think socialism is from Europe
[2015-8-18. : 6:22 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- It's because protecting American freedoms and values: being conservative, white, male, and Christian.
[2015-8-18. : 6:21 am]
KrayZee -- What's interesting is that foreigners who know more about American politics than... well, Americans... tend to side with liberals a lot more.
[2015-8-18. : 6:20 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Everything he says is like a parody of itself
[2015-8-18. : 6:20 am]
KrayZee -- Rush Limbaugh... I'm disgusted that he is even a human being
[2015-8-18. : 6:20 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- xD My friend listens to Rush Limbaugh
[2015-8-18. : 6:20 am]
NudeRaider -- grammar nazis!
[2015-8-18. : 6:19 am]
KrayZee -- Rush Limbaugh invented the word "Feminazi"... sure women (and men) who fight for equal rights means it's related to the Nazis.
[2015-8-18. : 6:18 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- liberal literally means free ;o
[2015-8-18. : 6:18 am]
KrayZee -- They somehow think that if more people watch Fox News, Fox News is somehow more honest!
