Vrael shouted: the only real difference, is that our communication about these things has increased by a bazillion times due to all the broadcast media and social media we engage in
Not only that, but media and social media are designed to be addictive. They don't give you the news because they love you. I'll grant that some percentage of their motivation is to inform (typically selectively) or promote change on the world (for better or for worse depending on your perspective), but generally the point of media is to get you to consume more media. Their algorithms are specifically engineered that way. While drawing sides, you can see how the media of the other side manipulates and brainwashes, but you're on the enlightened side, you're too smart, that could never happen to you...

Unbelievably based.

Moose -- MTiger156
MTiger156 shouted: I admit that I'm not active in a physical community, which is kinda pathetic. However, I fight pretty hard on the internet. I have a lot of participation in Change.org (even to this day), I love to donate to Twitch streamers that forged a wholesome / safe online community, and I know some of you have seen my announcements on SEN about defending Internet freedom, encryption, and privacy (I also made those announcements in my favorite multiplayer games).
Yes. Participate but at a distance. You can say you fought for something good. Advertisers can keep selling, you can keep consuming. The system can perpetuate itself. Everybody wins.

Vrael shouted: you don't really want to watch it all burn - you just want everyone else to do the hard work of fixing things for you
I would suspect that most people calling for violence, civil war, to watch it burn, etc. are either ignorantly romanticizing/fantasizing and/or have absolutely no clue what violence at scale is like (which is probably a good thing and not knowledge you should seek out first-hand)

[2020-10-09. : 11:40 pm]
Vrael -- everyone is fighting to make their own way, and a lot of folks have it hard and a lot of folks dont get the resources and education they really need

[2020-10-09. : 11:39 pm]

Vrael -- but "burn it all" isn't a useful idea
[2020-10-09. : 11:31 pm]
Vrael -- not saying we don't have real problems in this country
[2020-10-09. : 11:31 pm]

[2020-10-09. : 11:28 pm]

you are the architect of your own imprisonment
[2020-10-09. : 10:13 pm]
NudeRaider -- Wing Zero
Wing Zero shouted: No but you made it seem like counting other states wouldn't change anything.
That's not at all what I said. I said that when 8mil * 41 is already too high, then (8mil+x) * 41 is making it even worse. Krayzee basically conceded that by pointing me to another link with a lower number. Why are you even bringing it up now? And how do you not see the problem?

The distribution isn't exactly equal between the other states.

MTiger156 shouted: I can't feel sorry anymore for many cities being ravaged. There's more police / mayor / governor corruption than most people think. First Amendment rights and peaceful protest just don't have power or attention anymore. The system has deserved to be broken since the 90's.
MTiger156
MTiger156 shouted: The government only uses a fraction of tax money to improve communities. They keep a considerable amount for themselves. Not only does it steal our money, they have introduced countless bills that grant very overpowered surveillance of us. We are not people to them, just numbers.

MTiger156 shouted: So fuck it all... I wanna watch it all burn.
this is the opinion of a recalcitrant teenager who refuses to accept a share of responsibility in making the world better; and in doing so ultimately contributes to the problem

KrayZee -- I'll have to get my math right. I did show California statistics but the 4310% increase should represent the entire country.
[2020-10-08. : 10:26 pm]
NudeRaider -- okay, I'll reformulate. You say vote-by-mail has increased 41-fold (43-fold). You also refer to stats that tell us that in Cali over 8 mil voted by mail in 2016 (and 2018?). So multiply 8mil by 41 lands you at 340mil are now voting by mail. Can't be.
[2020-10-08. : 10:26 pm]
sraw531 -- 4100% vs +4100%, both are impressive, and at that point theres a negligible difference.

[2020-10-08. : 10:17 pm]
NudeRaider -- KrayZee
KrayZee shouted: NudeRaider We're in the middle of a pandemic, so it becomes common sense to simply vote by mail. And 4100% increase is actually a lot...
did you look at the numbers? 4100% = x41
[2020-10-08. : 10:15 pm]
KrayZee -- Okay it's 4,310%
[2020-10-08. : 10:10 pm]

NudeRaider shouted: KrayZee you know, I kind of doubt that 8,302,488 * >41 = >340mil people will vote by mail
