Just wondering if you can create and or move disabled unit sprites?

You cannot create them, but you can do almost anything else with them. You can only preplace them.

You can move them then?

Unit Spirtes aren't sprites, they're just regular units...

When you disable them they have odd effects, so they're slightly different than just plain units. You cannot create them, however, depending on which one you're working with, you can do most other actions, the best way to find out is to just test it out yourself, it's not that hard.

you advertise that list alot. I'm definitely not saying it in a bad way, cause i like it, but u'd think eventually people would get it...

You'd also think that people would eventually start spelling correctly.

Disabled Unit Sprites have strange effects when DISABLED. Otherwise, the Unit Sprite alone is nothing more than a regular unit.

Yeah, but I figure that lots of new members come just to ask one question, so they don't already know about it, not to mention some people just don't learn :P

No need to be rude, even if it's only slightly, it's readable, however, yes, alayou, try to improve a bit on it, all it can do is help.

I guess I should have specified a bit more. When you preplace a unit sprite, select it, and check the disabled block in its properties, they often have odd effects, if you simply place one and do nothing to it, it acts just like any normal unit.

Sorry I should not have said unit sprites, I meant just disabled sprites.. Like how you get a larva to rotate inplace or that other stuff. Thanks guys.

At the top of the tutorial, it explains how to do it, although it is slightly out of date, as now SCM Draft can sorta do it, it's the same thing in SCM Draft.

Quote from Falk's Zone
1. - Open up StarForge
2. - Place any unit or place the sprite of the unit you want
3. - If you placed the unit, select it, then right click and select Properties
4. - Copy the number to the right of Unit Type
5. - Place any Sprite, select it, then right click and select Properties
6. - Replace the number to the right of Sprite with the number you copied
7. - Select the unit again, go to Properties, uncheck the 'Draw as Sprite'
<-If you placed the sprite of the unit, you are now to this point->
8. - In the Properties menu the 'Disabled' box and you are done! Now try it out in SC!

Really? I thought you could stack unit sprites? Or maybe you have to disable them.

Oct 24 2008, 2:38 am Falkoner Post #12

You place them as disabled and then enable them via triggers to stack them.

Can you place them (active), then disable them in game, then enable them to allow them to stack? Also, can it be undone (as in make them unstackable)?

You can't disable in-game, they must be preplaced disabled, and I don't think it can be undone, although maybe disabling them or something can do it, burrowing makes them normal again though.
