I prefer cloaked wraiths over observers any day.
They weren't cooperating...
You are obviously doing that wrong.
Oh haha i forgot to say I fixed that a long time ago. lol ya I'm using wraiths and they are cooperating just perfectly.

Nice spam. Any suggestions?
Anywho, here is my completed waterfall experiments map:

I know if you open it up, it has really circular triggering and it really isn't pretty, but the end result is the same and the effects look nice in game.

Better but not "Best WF to date". Of course, this has been a part of a "Been there, done that" routine and many wouldn't call it that a Waterfall.
and to be honest they all really sucked
'All'? I'm surprised that did not ignite a flame war.
But I'm not asking for it.

Ok so maybe it's not the best to date lol , but for the area mine covers it is way less sprite intensive than the other waterfalls out there, except MNeox, but his is 2x as blocky as mine so ya. Only 3 people have actually watched the final product, i doubt
many people even have a final opinion yet.

I haven't checked out other waterfalls, but it is a bit disappointing. thing is, while you might expect some water sound, it isn't necessary, but the constant halluc explosions are noisy and not very waterfall-like (I don't suppose sprites are an option?). Furthermore, I'd think some combination of observers and wraiths might work better... it's far too obvious it's wraiths going down... much too easy to track them, with their peculiar shape. If you mix them, it'll seem more random. And yeah, the right side of the large fall had a single wraith coming down occasionally straight down... didn't really blend with the rest. The triggers seemed kinda simplistic... needs some random behavior.
I'd say the thinner waterfall looks more like an actual.... the larger one looks more like creek rapids or something. One other note... the current sprites you're using... they look rather out of place. Perhaps adding a lot more "flow" would help them not appear so static and outlandish.

It's not that they "don't look like waterfalls", it's that they look like the larger, broader waterfalls that are less common.
This is just ridiculously blocky, you have no right to start attacking people's work because you think repeating 2 tiles along the edge of a cliff makes a better waterfall.

QFT
The one Wilhelm posted is 100x better.
I can't believe you terrainers are always complaining about BLOCKINESS and REPETITION and yet you overlook the clear blockiness and repetition in Jello's waterfall. Did you guys suddenly become blind? Look at the edges. I wouldn't even mind if it was repetitious but it just looks bad because the edges aren't even smooth and straight. It's like an ugly blue insect with 8 legs sticking out.
Your waterfall sucks so much that this looks better than yours:

My only problem with that kind of waterfall, is that is looks like a piece of crap in-game, even though it looks quite nice as a still-shot. I think waterfalls for SC in general aren't really very possible, and I think this was an okay attempt.

Lmfao, it sucks even more than the blocky ones xD

No it doesn't look like crap ingame. It would actually look very nice, especially with some cloaked units and hallu deaths.
Get some glasses, mates.
By the way, sticky, best waterfall yet.

Not really, I've seen maps that do that, and IMO waterfalls, while they look good for a stillshot, they aren't meant to be made in SC.

I love you're extremely great skill of going into topics and posting completely useless criticism, great job!

Thanks, I appreciate your compliments. You must be taking some lessons from me because your criticism sucks.

Explain why it sucks, rather than coming in and posting no base for your criticism, it's just as bad as coming in and typing "I liek waterfalls
"

I don't understand you Falkoner. You seem to prefer things that are jagged, staggered, blocky, non-functional, even outright ugly over something that is smooth, sleek, leveled properly and functional if it has sprites on it.
Even if it doesn't, you never seem impressed by something unless it's in a smudgy jpeg version with blocky tiles and poor, badly planned blending. I don't mean to be mean, you obviously care about keeping this place active, but I don't understand your criterion.
And I REALLY don't understand why you keep arguing my waterfall "doesn't work ingame". Do I need to host the map for you?
