I thought I had my Starcraft lag problem fixed -- then, I got a new computer. ..and it lags horribly.
Yes, my ports are open.
Yes, my upload/download speeds are sufficient. They have not changed.
Yes, I have connected a wire from router to computer to see if wireless was the problem.
Help?
None.
I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.
is your new computer faster than your old one? (my brother's laptop lags on simple maps)
did you install all drivers, especially grafic card driver? (does an opened window lag when moving it around on the screen with the mouse?)
are you able to play more modern games which need more computer ressources? does that lag, too?
do other games (non blizzard games) lag?
What about your modem? is anything new/different about that? Maybe it doesn't work well with your computer?
None.

Yes, but I can run all maps fine when it is only 2 players, so it has to be my internet/network connection.
No, it all came pre-installed, and I've had no issues. It all runs very smoothly.
Diablo II and semi-graphic intensive games run fine, such as Command & Conquer.
No, they do not. (Diablo II, a Blizzard game, doesn't lag either.)

No, it's the same modem. I can still access it and change features: port forwarding, for instance. I suspect my problem may lie within this, though -- it automatically detects Starcraft's ports, and I simply have to choose to forward it. I can not tell which ports it is forwarding, though, so I'm not sure if it is covering all of them.
I've already tried turning my firewall and anti virus off, together and individually, but that didn't seem to affect anything.
Suggestions?
None.
Try connecting your cable modem/dsl box directly to your computer. Make sure you have firewall and antivirus turned on when you do this.

Yes, I have connected a wire from router to computer to see if wireless was the problem.
The anti virus and firewall were off at that point.

Try enabling Filter IDENT on your router
(it usually be in the firewall or security tab)

I've scoured all of my router's options, and I can find no mention of IDENT.
I have a SpeedStream 6520 router (DSL).

This may or may not be the problem, but do you have a windows vista?
If you do try what I told you(I think it was you atleast) to do with fixing stealthbot.
Turn off UAC and DEP.
Or just add starcraft to the safelist.

Thanks for the advice, but I discovered the problem already.
It was forwarding to another one of my (Dynamic) IP Addresses, so I made my IP Static, and fixed the port forward. Voila!
Thanks, all.
Resolved, so somebody close?
