I'd like to suggest to additions on the "Last posts in our forum" frame on the main page:
1) Show which sub-forum it is from;
2) Show something like 15 instead.
The 15 is definitely just a random number. It should probably actually show just enough posts to cover the average number of active sub-forum per day.
r/trees :3
None.
There are a lot of days where SEN goes 12 hours without a single forum post. I think 5 is perfectly fine. And honestly, you can tell almost every time what sub-forum the post is in by the title of the thread.
I would say to expand it by two or three OR to be able to click the top of the box and it takes you to an expanded list that has a max of 15 last posts.
None.
I think 10 would be a good number, and there's no harm in having the forum listed there as well. It could be on the same line and size as the author line is at the moment.
None.
Going to leave it at 8 for now, maybe someone who is better at Javascript than I am can set it back to 5 and have a clickable button to expand it to 10 or 15 or whatever. (or maybe I should do it myself that way I can learn the damn language already
) I also added the forum names to it, though it wraps to the second line for me in most cases.
Also, I did some optimization on the query that generates that list. It was selecting a bunch of unecessary data from multiple tables of the database and it is now about .4 sec faster on average. I might make it a pet project to check around the site and perform such optimizations, it might get things to load faster.
Does it look better as "in (forum name)" on the second line or in parenthesis next to the topic title? The latter has less line wraps for me.
Having it next to the topic name makes it break onto the second line. Having the whole thing be on the second line would look better.
Also, having both the topic name and the forum name be the same color makes it look a bit cluttered. Maybe have the forum name be a light gray or something that is distinguishable from the topic name but doesn't stand out a lot?
Yeah, I could also just not make the forum name a link.
The blank lines for newest DLDB files were annoying me. Files that don't have a title will no longer be displayed, so make sure you give your file a titlte if you want it to appear on the newest files on the portal.

You know, for an administrator who has been fading out for a year now, you sure do come here a lot.

So, you don't like scripting in JS either?
Moose fading out for centuries, still doing shit.
I should stop being a lazy person.
But hey, I at least have done some requests given by you via shoutbox!

Holy shit, something I posted actually worked
I wasn't thinking of an expanded list per se, but either a separate popup window with 15 or 20, OR a separate page that does the same.
For ease of use, if it was a popup, I'd say make it start out with the size of 7, and then let the user scroll down.

SENtv is Coming Soon (TM).
Anyways. I believe Cecil was working on SENv5, how's that going?

A separate page is
this.
Well, yeah, sort of. My one gripe is that it displays the latest
per forum. Last post serves as a sort of global last post, if you will. In fact, majority of the site's activity comes from null anyway, so I'm in favor of a renaming of the column to "Last Null Posts"
