Basically you will post a terrain piece/doodad/ramp w/e its up to you and then rate it then you post a terrain piece repeating itself...

If no one posts a terrain piece I will countinue to post terrain piece as i have stockpiled enough to keep this thread going.

sorry its not that decorated... was used in a civ map im making for minimoose so it was kind of rushed.

Also some description of what your terrain piece is supposed to be would help. Is this some sort of ramp? Or just a decoration for high cliff?

Its an actual ramp

We live in a society.

Looks better than what I would've made for my map, but that isn't saying much. It looks good. :)

The sword and the faith

6/10.

I was also trying my hand at making that terrain for Moose but I got distracted. This was for Diplomacy: Empires II.

lol so much rocky terrain you can't build anywhere...

My map looks pretty bland for now... how about i give you my map and you pretty it up since the terraining is pretty much done.
And the only reason its so bland is because i was trying to go for balance more than anything else.

6/10 come on tempz you can make it look more natural than that.

The tops of the cliffs and the interior of the cave is unfinished.

Really what did you have a problem with?... if you can make a better version i want to see you try :0?

Btw i think you were focusing too much on the bridge lol.

Edit : when you get to doing very advanced blends its bound to look a little wonky i mean just look at some of howlers blends... in fact he inspired most of the doodads i made... the only problem here for me was the bridge didn't look natural i know but come on a 6/10 just for a bad dirt bridge i mean people have been trying to make a good dirt bridge that didn't require jungle or high dirt - dirt blend for quite some time and that was my answer to it... unfortunately i couldn't get the top part like that also incorporated the the bridge title however i did find some blocks work... some more than others.

DO NOT RATE THIS PICS (EXPERIMENTAL STUFF)

If you look at the pics carefully it looks like one big continuous picture (bottom right)

Rather bland, except for the small semi-cliff in the middle-top.

7/10. Well-terrained, doodaded, and sprinkled with some vehry nais resources. Mnom. Quite messy, though. A little too much clutter for my taste. :hurr:

The prevailing theme from all of these seems to be too many doodads. The only one that really didn't was sam's but he went too far in the 'bland' direction.

It is allowable to have blank open ground, you know. You don't have to have doodads within 3 tiles of each other.

Having doodad makes it look more decorated that's the point... terrain is like a Christmas tree i mean who wants a tree without anything on it.

Jan 6 2012, 4:07 am Lanthanide Post #17

There's quite a difference between a tree that has been decorated tastefully and one that has so much tinsel and glitter on it that you can't actually see the tree any more.

I don't think mine is like that at all, lol, but okay.

Seriously? Look at all the doodads and count the average distance between them. It looks like about 3 tiles. You've really overused the skeletons and little volcano vents in particular. Payne's is worse, of course.

I think you're just jelly because you can't doodad like I can. >;D
Blank terrain is bland and indicative of a gross lack of effort. Ew. No thanks.
