So I've started to get in hip hop, and I recorded a little freestyle today on my computer mic. (This weekend, luckily, I'm going to a friend's home studio with condenser mics and such.)

Kinda generic lyrics, great beats, good delivery, and an average yet alluring voice. Could also broaden out from smoking weed/being the best.
Introducing.. is good but I don't like Weekend cause the beat/background singing is a little too loud for the volume of your voice.
Is this actual freestyle? or did you write down something beforehand? And what singers do you generally listen to?
Overall pretty good if these are your first four songs ever and also I think its easier to spit lyrics when completely blazed if you know what I mean

Haha yeah, I'm really focusing on my delivery and flow, but I'm working really hard with lyrics too, just gotta practice.
And I just threw these together in about 10 minutes each with very basic editing, I have a friend who has contacts with legit hip hop studios in Madison, which he will get me in for free with professional engineers.
Yeah, this is freestyle. However, I freestyled previously while recording with my phone, then wrote down the lyrics. I'm reading them, but it's a direct transcript from my phone with no editing.

I like the beats, but your voice is just... flat and uninteresting. I've done a bit of this kinda thing myself (sometimes sober, sometimes baked, w/e) and vocals are tough to do well. Experiment with your voice, find a tone that works and run with it, bro.
New shat.

Got a new mic that is great quality! Check my soundcloud again.

I hate everything about this.
Your voice and the other guy's voice in The Motto contrast so much it's just like.. ugg.. I kinda like where you were heading with Gold Rush but still needs work. I really like your beats. Are you stealing them or actually making them? Agreed with Symmetry to experiment with your voice, like more emotion or at least some bigger changes in pitch. Although I do like your emphasis levels on words. Good stuff make more!

Haha The Motto is by Drake, the chorus is from him. I haven't made any of these beats. And yeah, I have a mixtape lined up, just waiting for my computer to get here so I can set up in my room.
EDIT:
I am working on making my own beats though. Actually, production in general.

Beats are nice.
Voicework is a must.
IMO They get better further down the list.

I go out of my way to get into fights with people like you IRL.

Pretty original comment, I have to say. That being said, This.

Maybe like take a breath sometime? Rapping fast can be good and all but you should experiment with other tempos as well. I like how you did the hook though. Otherwise same old same old, I like it but of course the voice still could be more emotional.

You have a lot of "shit nigga i get paper and mad bitches etc". You do have a large income and are succesful witu the ladies right? I hate it when people throw that stuff in there because its like some sort of syandard when they really dont do that. Make sure you do what you say if you dont.

This is why rap and hip-hop is shit. It's just idiots talking about how rich / famous they are and how they use drugs all the time. Wow, good for you.
Although I'll have to say that Eminem's lyrics are generally a lot more complex and he has very clever rhymes that often exploit the melody of his backing music.

You clearly have no concept of what hip hop or rap is.
